Fortitude Round 9 Start

The sunnier weather of Saturday had remained and as usual all the screens displayed the instruction to report to the lobby for assembly at 12 noon. Dolorosa stands on the platform, flanked by her prefects, smiling and enjoying the warmer weather. She hopes that with more time with the sun in the sky, morale around here will pick up.

Speaking of picking up the morale, "Good morning my students, I would like to once again congratulate you for winning the round, you have all fought wonderfully from your first round to this last one. There were only a few battles last round but we acquired enough wins to bring us to victory."

Behind her the screen lights up with this round's battle records, "For Fortitude battles, Dave defeated Jake, Jade defeated Jake, Jake defeated Bublecup, and Dave and Jade ended their battle in a draw. Congratulations to all of you. Now for interschool battles, Dave defeated Lemina, Jake defeated Lemina, and Jade and Lemina ended in a draw, meaning we did not lose a battle. I am very proud of all of you."

"We are once again having a special round, we are having out first tournament round. In this round, each school will start with 8 Players, totaling 16. The first round of the tournament will be in-school battles, cutting the field from 16 to 8. The remainder of the battles will be interschool and I'm sure you will all fair well."

"During the first stage of the tournament each Player may use up to two weapons, dual wielding is only in effect if one of the Weapons has that upgrade. Quarter and Semi finalists may use three Weapons, and those in the Final round may use four. You are also expected to have battles outside of the tournament."

"The first, in-school round will be on Tuesday and made of the following match ups, meaning they are the Players for the round:

Shion vs Dave
Daenerys vs Jade
Anya vs Istar
Dirk vs David

"I will stay after assembly to answer any questions you may have, good luck in the up coming round."

We are to fight.

[ That's another girl...she doesn't look much older than Ishtar....and the teen just gives her a look. ]

....Really....?

[ She's not really into this fighting thing and she's just making sure she heard correctly. ]

[she nods] Yes.

[Anya is big on fighting. With giant robots, but she's good without them too. On the other hand, she is not big on talking]

....Not much of a talker are you?

[ She replied sighing.

Well then Ishtar can consider herself creamed seeing she can't fight well or defend herself well. She doesn't even have any useful combat abilities. ]

[She's good at staring unnervingly though!]

[ Ishtar just makes a face. ]

...this isn't going to end well is it?

It will end with a winner and a loser?

...not just that.....I really can't wrap my head around all of this, fighting to survive.

...then what do you do?

...Well there's always fighting but not to survive. I would rather fight to protect.

Oh. At home I fight to protect. Here I fight to survive.

Oh...really?

[ She's probably about Ishtar's age and probably not much older. She's done a lot more than what Ishtar was capable of. ]

I see. You're a pretty good fighter aren't you?

Yes, I am.

And your name is...An..Anya right? Sorry I can't pronounce names well. Hah.

I see.
