Ice cream as promised

Summary: After their tournament fight Sam buys everyone ice cream because that was the deal
Warnings:

Kotaro was sulking; not because he had lost. He had known that Sam was probably a better fighter than him and the fight had been mostly fun anyways. He didn't mind losing to Sam but Sam hadn't even attacked him he had attacked Cirno, and that was unfair! Kotaro was the Player and supposed to protect Cirno and Sam was meant to fight him not Cirno.

It was like what the Kowloon children did, when they had taken him in order to beat his brother. It was a cheaters truck and Sam was supposed to be better than that! He was supposed to be a vampire of justice! Like Kotaro and his brother!

Kotaro flung himself into the seat in the ice cream parlor, he had wanted just to go home but that would make him look like a sore loser and he didn't want that. After all he had promised Cirno ice cream after the fight whatever happened and he would keep that promise even if Sam had made him break his promise of protecting her!

He glared at Sam and hunched on the seat looking at the menu. He wanted chocolate ice cream, or toffee. He handed menus to Cirno and Golbez, but not Sam. Sam could get his own menu.

Golbez sat beside Sam, eying Kotaro carefully. He'd known the boy wouldn't approve of their method of fighting him, but it was better than the alternative.

He glanced down at his menu, looking a bit confused. He hadn't had ice cream for a good twenty-five, maybe thirty years. Had there always been this many flavors, or was that something unique to this world?

Sam felt horribly about the impact of his actions, and he didn't think apologizing would make much of a difference.

He actually wasn't sure what to get, but he wasn't going to make a big deal about it. He wondered idly about what kind of ice cream a guy like Golbez ate. But he rested his chin on his hand and looked at his menu, not really saying anything.

It would figure the one time he actually won at something requiring some physical skill he'd fuck it up like this.

Cirno was sore but didn't seem to mind too much about the outcome of the fight. She was sitting beside Kotaro, looking over the menu with a slightly sad look on her face. She was searching for anything she'd know by sight..and was failing at at the moment.

In fact, she was more upset that it upset Kotaro. She didn't like seeing her friends upset.

"I'm okay, I promise! It didn't hurt that much."

Kotaro still looked sad, it didn't hurt that much which meant it had hurt a bit. And Kotaro couldn't even hug her because she wasn't his Weapon anymore...

"Cirno gets double ice cream." Was all he said, glaring at Sam again.

Okay, Golbez was getting a bit irked at Kotaro's constant glaring at Sam. He had to do something about that.

"If there is anybody you should be upset with, Kotaro, it's me," he said, setting his menu down and looking down at the boy. "Sam's battle strategy was entirely my suggestion."

Sam turned a bit pink at Golbez's statement. "But it was my decision to actually do it. They have a right to be mad." He rested his cheek on his fist and sighed. Jared would call him an idiot for taking what a kid said so seriously, but it was more that he knew it was an underhanded strategy, but he did it anyway. He was a better person than that.
