Summary: Alex is teaching another of his daily classes and figuring out that he's forgotten a number.

Alex stands in front of the class, awkward as usual. This is his 17th class, and he still was not comfortable in front of the class. He fumbled with the textbook, "Ah, u-um c-could you a-all go ta chapter 2? I m-mean 3. P-page 48." It actually started on page 49, but that's the facing page, so who's counting?

"So, uh, t-today's functions a-and abstractions. S-so, uh, s-see if you c-can find some sub-programs in the things we've d-done, and... uh, lemme know." While he let people look at things they've already written for sub-programs, he busied himself again with a program for the PDA he has started working on.

((OOC: if anyone is interested in where I'm getting his lessons, I'm using this course as a guide for the lessons... not that anyone has to get technical or read any of it.))

"A-And I forget a n-number, and I d-don't know what I-I'm doing with Becca..." His voice squeaks a bit, and he looks like he could cry, even as he lets Shion tie his shoe. At first it made him really uncomfortable, but after tripping over his own shoelaces until Shion or someone else tied them, he got used to it.

Voice still cracking, he says, "I t-told B-Becca I'd m-meet her t-tonight! I s-still don't know h-how I f-feel about her!" He whines a bit, covering his face. "Wh-what'm I g-gonna do?!?"

Shion had to buy Alex a memory charm soon, once he had the money. He finished tying Alex's shoes and stood up again. He was completely unsure on how to react, "Calm down Alex," he led him to one of the desks so they could sit down. "You... you like her right?"

This was going to be awkward...

Alex sits, taking a deep breath. "I-I... D-does it s-seem like I do? H-how c-can you tell if y-you like someone that w-way?" He liked her as a friend, but he also liked Shion as a friend, what was the difference? Was there a difference? He did feel something around her, but it was a nervousness.

Oh... Shion blinked, he had no idea... He knew absolutely nothing about this at all... He had never even guessed that Safu had liked him until she told him and he didn't know what it was supposed to be like...

"Well... I guess... you want to kiss them and stuff... and..." He is blushing so hard right now.

Alex goes red so that even his ears are flushed. "I-I dunno a-about k-kissing.... I-I mean, i-it's sorta nice wh-when she holds my hand..." He looks to the side, scratching the back of his head.

At Alex's blush Shion blushed even more, "Yes... that as well... maybe you could tell her that..." Or maybe not, Shion had no idea...

"But wanting to kiss her... that would be clearer indication that you are attracted to her... as it would be an indication your hormones are reacting..." He cut off realising he was about to start babbling....

"Hormones!" Alex might not be as skilled with science as he was computers, but science was nice and easy to understand. I broke things down into less abstract pieces, and he always had fun with the science experiments they did in class at school.

"C-could they c-cause that weird f-feeling in my stomach, o-or something l-like that? C-cause it d-doesn't just happen when she touches me, and it's d-different from that w-wanting ta be sick feeling I u-usually get when someone touches me...."

This was better, a little better. Science Shion could understand. "I guess that would be nerves, but also hormones yes, it's just like a chemical reaction... except with hormones which results in you feeling like that..."

Alex shuffles his feet a bit, "A-and... wh-when there's hormones, th-that means you l-love that person?" He rubs his arms, suddenly aware of just how bare they were without his jacket -- Becca still had it. He was pulling at his sleeves and trying to hide the scars there.

"Yes... or well... the hormones are always there but when they start effecting you like that... that means you like them... maybe love them. There's a difference I think..." His blush was awful and Alex seems cold, Shion took off his cardigan and handed it over.

Alex stares at the cardigan, confused for a moment before taking it. He didn't get why Shion was handing it to him unless maybe Shion didn't like seeing his scars. Alex wouldn't blame him, of course, but he does hang his head, putting on the sweater. His arms were a bit long for it, but it fit well enough across his shoulders.

"W-well, I think I at l-least like her th-then... But it's so d-different than Kaylee." He goes a deeper shade of red. "I n-never did ask her on a d-date though. I wanted ta wait till after the press conference, but I ended up here, I g-guess...

Shion wondered if he had somehow insulted or upset Alex, he blinked in confusion. He listened to him, he didn't know who Kaylee was but wondered, if Alex had liked her and this was different... "How is it different? How does it feel different?"

"We just sorta clicked. I guess it might be b-because she and I both are programmers and hackers, but, well, she was also s-sorta the enemy and we w-were having fun tryin ta o-out-do each other. So, well, I guess it was just really exiting...." He was bright red talking about her-but the kind of secretive smile he wore was the same kind he often had when talking about Becca.

Shion nodded, not really understanding how he could like his enemy but he guessed if they had fun it made sense, if they'd had lots of fun together and it had been exciting. "And Becca?"

Alex shuffles his feet a bit, "©W-well, I have a lot of f-fun with her. She's r-really sweet, and n-nice, and she gets me. A-and I think I u--understand her too. It's... Nice, R-really nice." He kept staying at his feet, smiling the same secretive smile.

Shion smiled, "It sounds like you do like her... maybe you should tell her... or erm... See if she likes you back."

Alex goes redder than Shion has probably ever seen him, "W-well, uh, sh-she... that's why... She already s-said she does, and... well, I r-ran out of the room." Because he was just that good with the ladies.

"Oh..." Shion grinned, still blushing, "You are as bad as me..." He remembered how embarrassed he had been with Safu, and running away from her. "But... if you like her... then you should probably talk to her, especially if you like her back..."

"I-I'm just, well, I've never told anyone I l-liked them." He rubbed behind his neck awkwardly. "B-but, well, I c-cornered myself, t-telling her ta m-meet me tonight."

"Well I guess you just have to be confident... and tell her exactly what you feel... or er... I guess..." Shion really had no clue but that seemed to be how people did these things...
