After shenanigans at Recette's shop, Dirk has some deliveries to make -- memory charms for Dave and Sis, and memory charms plus upgrades and those Prospit dreaming pendants for Jake and Jane.

Aw man, and movie night is tonight also... He's gonna be busy today.

Throughout the day, he can be found around Fortitude and Rakuen, and lurking about outside the borders of Conquest.

I built one once but I wound up having to disassemble it for parts.

It was better than seeing him upset.

And instead he'd get to be upset once you parted ways and you didn't have to see him.

The aquatic tragedy that is the post-apocalypse doesn't stop from getting sadder, Jane. [ Not that he's going to object to the head pettings. ] We're cool, so you don't have to be upset for us. It's basically all we've ever had going. And we were about to ollie the fuck out to the game before Rakuen decided to make us its bitches.

I don't wish for him to think like that, but you know how young kids are. You leave and they get upset. I don't know how to change my way of life for him, when it is for him.

[Sis never leaves for no reason. She has a home and small family to protect. She really does love Dave with everything she has.]

Shit doesn't always work out the way you want it to. He's upset now, but he can deal with it. [ A shrug. ] Don't think you really can change it. It happened, it's over.

[ Even if he is trying to work out some way to save her once they leave. Her and Jade both. ]

Look. If you really want to make him feel better, just be there for him as long as you're both stuck here. It ain't gonna last forever and it's gonna fucking hurt when you finally have to part ways, but it's the best you can do.
