No, I'm sorry. I'm not explaining this very well. Let me back up.

What most people here are used to is a longer period of time than you're considering to get to know someone before you marry them. When I say 'dating periods' I mean the amount of time spent getting to know each other before you're absolutely sure you want to marry them. So you know exactly what kind of person you're committing yourself to.

For most of us here, and possibly also for the person you're wishing to marry, getting to know someone after you're married isn't really something common where they come from. Which is why most people are so confused. Does that make sense?
