On the platform: Meet the new characters

As you all crowd onto the platform, which is drenched with sunlight though the air is cool you are met by six girls and ten boys. One of the boys seems to be a blue Hedgehog and one of the girls has wings; but the rest all seem human. All sixteenn are in uniforms that would match if not for the colour differences - skirts and trousers, waistcoats, and light summer shirts that seem totally inappropriate for the chill. Some seem irritable while others look excited. Each has a beret with a crest pinned to the front - nine depicting a shield on green, the other seven a sword on red.

At the first lull in the chatter, a frail looking girl with a shield on her cap steps forward.

"Excuse me, may I have your attention please!"

She explains that the sixteen of them are the current prefects of Rakuen, representing the two schools on the island. Nanami (she gestures to herself), Lelouch, Yuri, Sonic, Jade, Sora, John, Rebecca, Dirk and of Fortitude; and Santana, Flynn, Kevin, Gino, Suzaku, Golbez and Cirno of Conquest.

The introductions are over fast and the girl named Santana seems impatient, "So come over when your name is called so we can all get inside." They all move to stand in two groups some distance away from each other; a boy and a girl step forward and begin to read names from a clipboard.

Golbez, the Conquest prefect made an imposing figure, standing there with his perpetual glare on his face, as he read off the names. "Dave Strider, Cheshire, Isabela, Jade Harley, Jack Noir, Hideki Hinata, and Hiyo Shishidou."

Despite what seemed to be a broken leg slowing her down, the Fortitude prefect; Jade looked almost excited in her prefect's outfit and neon orange T-shirt that came to her knees. "Okay, the people I read off are for Fortitude! If you have any questions, I'll try to answer them, but please don't threaten me with violence... Komachi Onozuka."

Yep! Welcome to Rakuen, I'm Jade, and we're both Fortitude students. Do you have any questions?

Ah, I'm sure I'll pick it up as I go along.

But hey... Everyone knows "that story"... think it has anything to do with us?

[greenspaces]

Definitely. I think we have to make the story come true in order to go home, or win. Or both!

[ferriedmemories]

Huh, really? Then who's the princess?

[greenspaces]

I don't know yet. I think we'll have to figure it out.

[ferriedmemories]

[Wait wait hang on.]

Wouldn't it be something if it turned out to be me? Eh, probably not though.

Student, huh? Can't say I was expecting that.

[greenspaces]

It could be any of us! I don't think it's wrong to assume.

It's fun! We have really cool classes. And you don't have to go to school if you don't want to, but you get paid for it.

[Staring.
Squinting.
Confused.
She is like a good 99% sure that this girl looks exactly like her, minus the ears.]

[greenspaces]

[ Jade has already noticed and is extremely uncomfortable. Ugh be brave. Harley receives a small smile, but Jade isn't confident enough to go up and talk to her.

Oh, she's already noticed the ears. ]

[She considers the obvious air of discomfort around the girl and her oddly scrawny size, debating whether or not to say something before finally taking a step forward towards her.
She'd dissolve this odd tension in the best way possible.]

Hi! Are you me?

[greenspaces]

[ And the tension only grows! She's so awkward, but attempting to be calm about it. ]

Yeah...we're the same person. But you've got ears, like Jadesprite.

That's really weird! I thought only Dave had others of him because of the whole time power stuff.

[She seems really cheerful about the whole thing, though.
...Wait.]

Oh no, Jadesprite is here?

[greenspaces]

This place brings in lots of different people. There are two Daves...three now, I guess.

[ Well if she doesn't know about doomed timelines, Jade isn't about to voluntarily offer that information, particularly since she has a sneaking suspicion this Jade probably belongs to Dave. ]

She's really nice. She helped me in the fight against the Firebird, and was really brave.

[ But might be getting a little defensive, because Jadesprite is now in the 'good friend' category. ]

Three? Wow, can this place handle that much coolkid?

[She's attempting to smile and joke and lighten the mood, but this other her just didnt seem to want to reciprocate.
It's getting to be really awkward.]

Really? She's usually a huge crybaby... it's good that she's stepped up to help everyone out! She didn't want to help me when she became my sprite.

[greenspaces]

I don't know.

[ That makes her smile; Dave is a nice, safe subject. And one she likes quite a lot. ]

Maybe you should have given her another chance. She was probably just scared.

[Jack is about to go stomp off to screech elsewhere when JADES

Jades that are trying to crutch away, oh no. He somehow misses seeing any other floaty sprite Jades so he chases after this one, since he still has no fucking idea what's going on and he's kind of hoping that this is the Jade he's looking for.]

Hey, you! Get the fuck back here! [LIKE A TRUE GENTLEMAN he goes ahead and makes a grab for her wrist (gently, so far) so he can spin her around, just to make sure it's actually Jade. This Jade doesn't have dog ears or anything, so she has to be the one that knows him, right???]

[greenspaces]

[ What--?? She is completely knocked off balance by being yanked around, and loses one of her crutches in the process. It is indeed Jade, but since she looks completely terrified because he interrupted her sniffling, probably not so much. ]

D-do you have a question?

[ Even if she's sniffling, she's going to be a polite prefect. ]

[gottakilldaves]

[Oh, right, crutches. He'd feel kinda bad about that, but he's got more important shit to worry about, like grilling this thirteen year old on questions she doesn't actually know the answers to.

She doesn't recognize him straight away. He scowls, tightening his grip on her hand without noticing.] What the fuck do you mean, "do I have a question?!" You're Jade Harley, right? Why the hell are you acting like you don't even know me?!

[greenspaces]

[ She shakes her head, kind of terrified?? ]

I don't know who you are, I'm really sorry...

[gottakilldaves]

Then why the hell do you have her name and looking exactly like her? Goddamnit, kid, if I pissed you off just fucking say so!

[because she's just pretending she can't remember him, right? there's no way she actually doesn't know him, that'd be two new Jades in one day and that's just too crazy]

[greenspaces]

N-no, you didn't, my name is Jade! But you must be from a different universe, or you're someone I don't remember because they took it away from me, I'm sorry...

[ Ow stop griping her wrist. ;n; ]
