On the platform: Meet the new characters

As you all crowd onto the platform, which is drenched with sunlight though the air is cool you are met by six girls and ten boys. One of the boys seems to be a blue Hedgehog and one of the girls has wings; but the rest all seem human. All sixteenn are in uniforms that would match if not for the colour differences - skirts and trousers, waistcoats, and light summer shirts that seem totally inappropriate for the chill. Some seem irritable while others look excited. Each has a beret with a crest pinned to the front - nine depicting a shield on green, the other seven a sword on red.

At the first lull in the chatter, a frail looking girl with a shield on her cap steps forward.

"Excuse me, may I have your attention please!"

She explains that the sixteen of them are the current prefects of Rakuen, representing the two schools on the island. Nanami (she gestures to herself), Lelouch, Yuri, Sonic, Jade, Sora, John, Rebecca, Dirk and of Fortitude; and Santana, Flynn, Kevin, Gino, Suzaku, Golbez and Cirno of Conquest.

The introductions are over fast and the girl named Santana seems impatient, "So come over when your name is called so we can all get inside." They all move to stand in two groups some distance away from each other; a boy and a girl step forward and begin to read names from a clipboard.

Golbez, the Conquest prefect made an imposing figure, standing there with his perpetual glare on his face, as he read off the names. "Dave Strider, Cheshire, Isabela, Jade Harley, Jack Noir, Hideki Hinata, and Hiyo Shishidou."

Despite what seemed to be a broken leg slowing her down, the Fortitude prefect; Jade looked almost excited in her prefect's outfit and neon orange T-shirt that came to her knees. "Okay, the people I read off are for Fortitude! If you have any questions, I'll try to answer them, but please don't threaten me with violence... Komachi Onozuka."

[ Damn, that guy staring is suspicious. Anyone staring for that long is just suspicious. Which, yeah, makes Dirk suspicious too.

After a few minutes of that, he approaches Jack. ]

Dirk Strider. Fortitude prefect. And you are?

[Oh, now the pointy shades kid was walking up to him. He adjusts his hat, standing a little straighter to try and look more imposing (the robotics help, the fact that he's short as shit probably doesn't).

Dirk Strider, huh? That sounds like the least important name he's ever heard. It's so unimportant the last name slips his mind not even a second later. What a boring guy.]

Jack Noir. Conquest. [he doesn't actually give a shit about this school thing, but it's pretty fucking badass that he can just add "CONQUEST" to the end of his name there]

... Have we met?

[ His eyes narrow under his awesome pointy shades. This. This is Jack Noir? That's so incorrect Dirk doesn't even know where to begin. ]

Don't think we have. S'my job to greet the newbies. Consider yourself greeted.

[He grumbles something under his breath, maybe a sarcastic "thanks" or "nice to meet you." Fuck this weird kid.]

Where'd you get those stupid looking shades?

I don't know what you're talking about. I'm not wearing any stupid-looking shades.

The ugly fucking triangles on your face, dumbass! Where the fuck did you get them? [yes jack being an ass will make people tell you things]

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you said stupid, not rad.

[ He might not look like Jack Noir, but this attitude is familiar. ]

I got 'em from a friend.

And who's this friend of yours?

What, do you want a pair of your own?

No, I wanna know where the fuck you got them from! Are you gonna tell me or not?!

Just answer the goddamn question!

[because violence and threats solve everything and he's lacking in the coatful-of-knives department, he's gonna try and lift Dirk up by the collar next]

[ Jade is I guess going to crutch over looking OFFICIAL!!!! ]

Put him down right now!

[ Wow is this really happening. Dirk quirks one eyebrow, and he's just going to remain completely passive whilst Jack is holding him up by his collar. Mainly because he knows that in retrospect it's going to be more hilarious that way. ]

Jade, help. [ ...he said in a completely flat, deadpan tone of voice. ]

[Jade catches him totally by surprise, and he actually does lower Dirk enough to touch the ground. But he isn't letting go just yet.]

I was just asking him a goddamn question, mind your own business!

[greenspaces]

[ '-'!!!!!!!!! ]

If you don't let him go, I'll have to give you the penalty for...for harassment!

[ Yeah, that would probably look better than Dirk penalizing Jack himself. Which he'd been considering doing. ]

Jade, this guy's a psychopath. I'm so scared.

[gottakilldaves]

[ugh fuck

He takes a good, long moment to glare at her, but... well, it's still Jade, and he still kind of owes her. Even if she apparently doesn't remember it or something? It's confusing.

So with a scoff he finally lets the kid go, making sure to give him a good shove on the way down.] I was just trying to ask him something and he was being a little shit, Jesus Christ, you can calm down.

[ Dirk makes a big show of brushing off the front of his vest. He's not sure why. It's not dirty or anything. That's just what cool guys do in this kind of situation.

He steps backward and leaves Jack to get scolded by Jade. Because Jack Noir getting scolded by a little girl on crutches is hilarious. But he remains ready to jump in if things get ugly. ]

He's still gonna shoot Dirk a sharp glare, though, as if to say you can't hide behind Jades forever. Oh yes, he's so gonna beat the shit out of that sixteen year old kid that did nothing to him.

This would probably be more threatening if he wasn't getting talked down by a girl less than half his age right now.]

[ GOOD SHE HUMPHS. ]

Don't threaten anybody! There are people here that can make you really hurt if you try and do something that's against the rules. And even if you are mean and scary, you shouldn't want to get hurt like that.

[ Good tactic, Jade. Dirk's pretty sure the only person any Jack Noir could ever care about is Jack Noir. ]

[That would be an excellent guess, Dirk.]

I really don't give a fuck, but if it'll make you shut up then fine. [folding his arms, huff] Are we done here?
