We're taking Jake's dream corpse into the arena tower.

Anyone who wants to join us should meet us there shortly.

[ By "we", Dirk means himself along with Brobot (who's carrying the body), Jake, Jane and anyone else who wanted to come along. Jade maybe? Anyone, really. Characters not from Homestuck are welcome too.

He'll be answering questions via PDA as they walk to the tower. ]

I'm glad you asked, because it gives me a chance to explain for everyone else who isn't yet aware.

Some time ago, I foolishly ordered my waking self's body from Recette's shop in hopes that its disappearance would alert somebody to my absence -- this was before I realized that the flow of time between here and our home world isn't constant. That's not really relevant, though, it's just some background information to explain why we had an extra corpse lying around: For whatever reason, that body arrived dead rather than simply unconscious as I'd expected it to.

Jade had the idea to try carrying it into the arena tower, at the time the only one that was open, to see what would happen. Once we carried it up to the second floor an extra spear flew out of a pile of weapons and embedded itself in the corpse. Shortly thereafter the body began to breathe again, and shadowy tentacles appeared out of nowhere and dragged it out of sight.

Lopez has implied that this was a foolish thing for us to do and that there will be serious consequences if we offer the tower more "sacrifices", though she's been hella fuckin' cagey like the infuriating NPC she is. Our goal here is to see what happens if we give it another body, and because a person can't die permanently in Rakuen it has to be a corpse specially ordered from the shop. The purpose behind it being a dream corpse is to avoid subjecting anyone to what could potentially be a horrible fate when the body reanimates and is dragged off; with supernatural powers and therefore connections between waking and dreamselves nullified, the body should simply "live" in a vegetative state.

It seems this place has been giving everyone the opposite effect of what they want. I've been noticing and taking note by note of it myself. Perhaps a long the way it died in some strange manner or worse- it was murdered.

So I'm assuming you haven't seen your dead Dreamself since? That would be unfortunate. I'm also guessing this is why you asked Jake and I to perhaps order ours? Jake's would have been the preferred one since his is already dead, and mine would have arrived much in the same state as yours. That makes sense about why you wanted Jake's and not mine.

But I'm curious, what will happen to Jake's dreamself? What if it starts breathing again like yours did? I won't defend or go against what Lopez said to you because this is all assumptions straight from my head, ramble and thoughts if you darn well will! Can't willy nilly not know everything when you're about to do something like this.

My main concern? What if whatever in those towers is interested in Jake's dead dreamself, and goes for one of us instead? What if there are worse consequences for something like that?

Apparently if you try ordering a person and they don't consent to be here, they arrive dead. Incidentally, that also apparently means we all consented to be brought here and just can't remember it.

And it was my waking self, Jane. I am my dreamself right now, yoinked here straight from Derse. But no, no one's seen it since. Which is why it's best to just order ones that have already died back home. I think Jade was going to order hers next.

I'm not claiming to know everything, but logically dream Jake should wind up comatose. There's no consciousness to inhabit the body, after all.

I think we're safe, though. People have gone in and out of these towers plenty, and Lopez made a big deal about the fact that we took a corpse in. There shouldn't be a problem with living people entering.

This whole idea is sketchy, and it's going to be weird feeding our best friends dead dreamself, or comatose body to some tower monster.

Lopez won't tell you the details Dirk. We probably shouldn't even bother her about this. It's a dumb idea to ask her about something like this since she'll go NPC on us and not tell us. She probably defaults to not tell. What if she can't tell? Maybe she was trying to protect you, I don't know!

It's not like he needs it anymore. At least this way, we can use it to get some answers. It wasn't gonna do anything but rot back on Prospit anyway.

She all but outright stated that she can't tell us, so you're right about that. But you're looking at this the wrong way. I'm not going to sit around and be a good little marionette for whoever's pulling the strings here. If you don't want to be involved then feel free to turn around and go back to your dorm, Jane, but Jake and I are going to figure this shit out.

I'm not going back. I can't ditch you guys again.

[She's already dried her tears before Dirk would be able to turn and see her. But it's obvious she's bothered by this whole thing.]

[ He turns, lowering his PDA. He can see that her eyes are red and puffy, but he doesn't comment on it. ]

[Well, maybe you shouldn't have been so harsh. Hm? She won't bring it up either. She gets in stride with him.]

[ He's Dirk. ]

[How can she resist when he's got that little itsy bitsy smile on his face, Jane just can't say no.]
