/DEFINE HARM • harm |härm|

COMMAND 2: "noun
- a statement of an intention to inflict pain, injury, damage, or other hostile action on someone in retribution for something done or not done
- a person or thing likely to cause damage or danger"
COMMAND 3: "noun
physical harm caused to something in such a way as to impair its value, usefulness, or normal function."
COMMAND 4: "noun

REFERENCE SOURCE: "Injury is damage to a biological organism which can be classified on various bases. Injuries to biological organisms cause pain."
CONCLUSION: Threats imply pain.

Re: text;
Non-biological entities can also be "damaged".
Definition of "injury" as solely applicable to biological organisms is inadequate. The violent removal of a robot's limbs or power core qualify as damage or injury, but do not cause "pain".

Re: text;
Ok.
As you yourself pointed out in your opening query, and as Brobot helpfully clarified for you, there are more things to fear than just pain.
A human being assured of a quick and painless death is likely to still fear.
