Summary: Fencing practice.

Juri had gone to check out Fortitude's gym as soon as she was able to, and had been gratified to find that its storage rooms were well-equipped with fencing gear (along with the necessary implements to play every other sport Juri could name and some that she couldn't, apparently). So she'd kitted herself out and taken a foil and gone into the main room to do some basic drills. Of course, this situation was hardly ideal for practice: the unfamiliar equipment felt strange, and there was only so much she could do in the absence of an opponent. But she had to keep her skills honed, didn't she? It wouldn't do to go getting rusty.

Besides, she had to admit that there was something comforting in the familiar, repetitive rhythm of the drills. She could just let her muscles work and not have to think about, well, any of the things she'd rather not be thinking about right now.

Dirk may have been a swordsman, but fencing was totally unfamiliar to him. He knew the equipment was there, but he'd never used it.

So when he cut through the gym as a shortcut to get from the main building to the prefect dorms, he was surprised to see somebody actually using one of the foils. He stopped, standing far enough away so as not to interfere with her, to get a better look.

Dave watched her from one of the entrances of the gym. He was silent (of course) while he watched her carefully. He never seen fencing in person before and never considered it.

But it was pretty sweet to actually watch her, now that he got too.
