Summary: Just waking up from his coma-nap, Arthur decides that he needs some exercise. He also realizes he is an owned weapon, this must be Merlin's fault.

[Arthur woke up from his coma not long ago, if Gaius were here he'd probably be ordered to have a bit more bed rest, but he's feeling antsy. He gets out of bed and heads over to the woods. By the state of his body he can tell that he's been out for a while and Arthur is not one to let himself get out of shape, no matter how often Merlin calls him fat.]

[It takes him a while to get back into his room and find his sword. He wonders how much time has gone by but doesn't let the thought trouble him for too long. Arthur picks up his sword and heads to the woods, nodding at those he passes. He probably should be teaching a class but he can't be bothered at the moment.]

Yes, I think this will do.

[He begins his stretching, his sword resting against a nearby tree.]

Do you know anything of swordplay?

None of my friends were swords at home... Ah, Yuki's became a katana, but I only got to fight with her once. [ translation: NOPE. ] I've used swords here.

Komachi. My friend. [He does have friends who are not you you know. Not that they are friends which makes it even more important that he has other friends.

A friend, Merlin? [he waits the second for Merlin to stop blanking out at the sound of his name, how inconvenient] So you made a friend, how cute. Does he have any fighting skills at all?

[he turns around, he's not startled but he is a bit ashamed that he didn't hear her arriving]

[ she just assumes he's confirming the fact, and nods to agree.

Hmm, how well DOES she use them? It's not like she's ever had formal training. ] I used to win all the time against the boys, but there are a lot of people here I can't beat.

[To be fair, she was here first.]

You're trying to get away from it all for a bit, right? There aren't a whole lot of other reasons to be all the way out here.

It's a girl too? Wonderful, you sure know how to pick them.

If the boys you were fighting didn't have training as well I could see how you could beat them. [out of sheer determination, that is]

Why do you want to learn?

Or maybe I just came out here to train, I can't relax just because I am not in my kingdom.

[ No one can beat her in a determination-off. She is simply the best there is. ]

[He's a bit startled by her answer and her determination]

[He should tell her that sometimes to protect others you need to recognize your own needs and the importance of your self but, really, Arthur would throw his life away to save Camelot so he's not really one to talk]

You can't just take a day off when you're king, there are always things to do, things that need your attention, knights to train...
