Summary: Tomoko has new shoes! .... New shoes that she can't tie. Cuteness happens.
Warnings:

Tomoko had been very pleased to get new shoes. After....after that nightmare, she wanted something easier to move around in, and her boots weren't doing it. So now she had cute, adorable pink sneakers- and a huge problem. No matter how much she tried- she couldn't remember how to tie her shoes. Or figure out on her own. She kept bunching the shoelaces together and yanking and moving them around in circles, and nothing happened. She couldn't get them to do work the way they should, no matter how hard she tried.

So she ended up just going out for a walk in the courtyard with her shoelaces completely untied. She had fallen twice on her way out, and she was being very careful not to fall again. She stopped to think for something else a moment though, and one foot went down on the other foot's shoelace. When she went to try and take another step, it ended with her on the ground.

"A-ah..." Tomoko stared down at Lyra, wide eyed, trying to memorize what she was doing with the laces. "Thank you!"

Utena stood up. "Hey Oashi-san, can I ask you something?" She said, nervously performing wrist stretches.

[Sora is proud of Tomoko every single day.]

Can I walk with you?

Romeo gave another smile and tied the other shoe quickly. "There, you won’t trip now."

He looked at her again with another smile; she was sort of familiar. "You're one of Miss Sora's princesses aren't you!" He finally realised where he had seen her before, Miss Sora had a lot of princesses and it was sometimes difficult to remember them all. Romeo didn’t know this girls name but he had seen her with miss Sora a few times.

[ but Akane means it! look at that face. that is the face that does not lie. ]

You're... um, one of Sora-san's friends, right? [ small talk. :|a ]

"It's fine. One of the people I met here forgot how to tie bows, too!" Lyra said.

She tried once more to remember what he was doing with the other shoe, but that didn't work out well either. She kept frowning at her feet, until he brought up Sora, which brought a smile to her face. She knew she was supposed to be subtle, but she couldn't help it. Besides, things were different here.

"Oh! You know Himoto-san?" She asked, before nodding quickly. "I am."

"Um- yes?" Tomoko asked, looking up at Utena. The question, and Utena's tone of voice had caught her slightly off guard.

"Well, I'm glad I'm not the only one." Tomoko said, before smiling quickly at the other girl. "It was still kind of you to help me though!"

Yes! I'm one of Himoto-san's friends! [Oh! Well, maybe she shouldn't call herself that. Is she Himoto-san's friend? The thought makes her incredibly happy, and she finds herself smiling at the weird boy.]

You've met her?

Of course you can!!

Crack crack went her knuckles. She held her arms out parallel, stretching them too.

"Are you a...Weapon this time around?"

Himoto... Yes that was the name after Sora's on the magic walls, it was strange to Romeo that so many people at this school had two names. Most the people Romeo knew only had one name, only people like doctor Casella or noble people had more than one name.

Romeo grinned, "Yes I know miss Sora! I saw you with her before! Miss Sora is so kind," he smiled again glad he had met another of miss Sora's friends.

[hooray! In that case, she's going to let you up first, then scramble up with you--

or she would, if she wasn't staring at your laces. HOW DO THEY WORK?]

I-is something wrong Himoto-san?

[hairwag]

The question still seems strange to her. The idea that she could ever be a player seemed too weird to be true. Thank goodness it wasn't, right now.

"I am!" As always. "Why do you ask? "

Tomoko gave a firm nod in agreement to Romeo's statement. That was true, Himoto-san was very kind. "She is! I'm very glad I met her! Um- are you two friends, then?"

Trunk and spine this time, side to side. Crick crack. The physicality of stretching bleeds off the awkwardness of the question to her, somehow.

"Do you need...someone to protect you? I mean you wouldn't have to actually act as a Weapon or do anything, just because the game requires that you be one and I guess i'm kinda babbling..."

Romeo tilted his head, Miss Sora was a grown up and so she would never be friends with Romeo. But she was a very kind person and Romeo was happy when he was around her. "We made an oath!" He explained with a smile, "That we would help everyone here!"

[why wouldn't she remember how to tie laces. It's true that she normally wears boots, but she's not that out of practise...]

Nope! [she stands immediately, to reassure Tomoko, and offers her a hand. If she trips again, she can catch her.] Let's go, Tomoko-chan.
