Suzaku sat in the corner of the downstairs common room in the Black dorm building. Spread out in front of him was a couple of textbooks and a lot of paper. He frowned, he had never found biology easy but this! He hadn't even seen half of these plants before in his life and was starting to suspect they didn't even exist in his world.

Other worlds, the idea was terrifying when Suzaku stopped long enough to think about it, other worlds with other animals and other plants from what he knew. He blinked at the question again, he had no idea; he sighed heavily and read through the textbook again.

Yuka wasn't going to ask. She definitely didn't want anyone asking her about why she stopped going to school. She did hope his reason wasn't as bad as hers. "Was your world...fairly normal, then? If it had school and everything?"

Suzaku nodded, "Well... it's normal for me, I didn't know there were any other worlds before I was brought here." He fell silent, that probably wasn't helpful. "Britannia owned half the world," that was before Lelouch took over anyways, "There's lots of wars. But there's still schools. I went to one last year for a while before..." He fell silent and shook his head, not wanting to speak about Euphemia's death at all, especially since she was here for some strange reason. "I was a soldier and now I'm a knight." He hadn't meant to say that much and he shrugged again.

"What was your world like?"

[brokencrane]

"O-Oh, I didn't mean I knew there were other worlds, I just meant normal like mine, I guess." Britannia? She didn't think she'd heard of a place like that...did he mean England, maybe?

"Mine was...well we didn't really have wars or anything. Uh, Japan didn't, I guess some other countries did. But where I lived it was just...normal. People went to school and work and things." She would not mention the Orphenochs. Most of the humans from her world hadn't known about them either, so everything was normal for them.

Suzaku nodded, he was relieved actually at the amount of people who seemed to come from worlds where Japan was still Japan and hadn't been invaded, where there were no wars. "Yes, I still don't understand it but there are people here from lots of different worlds," Lloyd didn't even understand it fully and that gave Suzaku very little hope that they were going to escape any time soon.

"It's nice to know there are worlds with no wars." He said quietly with another tiny smile.

[brokencrane]

The way he said that... "Are the wars really bad?"

Suzaku nodded slowly, "War's are always bad." He fell silent, he didn't really want to talk about the war because that would lead to his part in it. It was a depressing subject anyways and he did not want to upset Yuka. "I'm sorry, we should talk about something more chearful."

[brokencrane]

She nodded; he probably didn't want to talk about it. "Well, there were still fun things too, right? Like hanging out with friends, or going to amusement parks and things..."

Suzaku blinked, he could not remember he had been with all his friends, Ashford he guessed but even then. The last time he had been there he had been too busy keeping an eye on Lelouch; he still couldn't remember why. Something about the Emperor and Rolo, why was Rolo pretending to be Lelouch's brother anyways?

His mind was filling with fog. He had speant time with Gino and Anya before he had joined with Lelouch, that had mainly been in battle though but it had been fun when they hadn't been fighting. But Gino hated him now, and Anya too, both thought him a traitor.

He was a traitor, he thought hard trying to remember another time he had been with his friends in the last year. The day with Lelouch and Shirley, the day Shirley had died...

He shook his head, "friends die in wars." He should leave, he was definatly upsetting Yuka and she did not deserve to hear his woes. He should leave her alone, he began to gather his books silently.

[brokencrane]

...oh. That hadn't been a good thing to ask, now she'd just upset him. "Ah! I-I'm really sorry, I didn't mean to..."

Suzaku was shaking but he tried to keep his feelings under control. After all he shouldn't make Yuka upset, except she already was upset, he had upset her and even though he wanted to leave and be alone he knew that would make her more so.

"I'm sorry Yuka," he swallowed and forced a smile. He was good at it, he had lots of practice, faking happiness for those around him, for Euphemia, for Nunnally, even for Gino at times to make the younger knight leave him alone. "It's alright, why don't you tell me about your world instead?"

[brokencrane]

About her world? She still didn't want to mention the Orphenochs, and that wasn't very happy to talk about, anyway. She should talk about something more cheerful. "Um..." Except there wasn't a whole lot she could think of, really. There'd be so much fighting lately. Though Kiba-san had gotten the Faiz belt, that was new--

Hm, maybe it would be okay to talk about the Riders, at least? They were kind of exciting, if you thought about them being like superheroes... "Well...most people don't know about them, but in my world there are these belts, and if you wear one you can transform into a hero and fight bad guys."

Belts that transformed you into a hero and help you fight bad guys. It sounded like something from a childrens tale, ones that had bad guys and hero's wher eyou fit into one catogory or another. They had belts to turn you into a hero? Turn you good or just make you stronger, if it was the latter couldn't people use the belts for bad?

Suzaku shook his head slightly, "So anyone can put the belt on and they are a hero?" It sounded a little simple to him, but he had no idea what Yuka's world was like except, "I thought you said there were no wars..."

[brokencrane]

"Anyone can use it, I think." She wasn't actually sure about that, but Kiba-san and Kaidou-san and Inui-san had all used Faiz, hadn't they? "Not everyone who uses it is a good person, though." Like that other person who had attacked her, the one who wasn't Faiz. "And they don't use them for wars, because a lot of people don't know about them at all. Kiba-san was using one of them recently to stop Smart Brain from hurting people."

Suzaku nodded but was still confused, "But surely the government know about it and would want to use them in wars?" After all what was new technology for if not to help the war effort, even if there were no wars where Yuka came from surely if her government had created technology like these hero belts they would use them to take over other countries.

[brokencrane]

She blinked. "I'm pretty sure they don't know about them...and there's only a couple of them, so I don't think they'd be very useful in a war anyway."

[swordofzero]

Suzaku nodded his eyes narrowing, something as powerful as that in the hands of people who wern't the government. That seemed very much like terrorism to Suzaku but he kept his mouth shut, it was not his world he knew nothing about it.

"Does your world not have Knightmare Frames then?" Because surely a human, even if they were wearing a belt could not go up against a Knightmare Frame. Mei had never heard of them so Suzaku wondered if they were unique to his own world, maybe without Britannia no other world needed them.

[brokencrane]

You should hear about Smart Brain, Suzaku, they're even worse. "Knightmare Frames? No, I've never heard of those..."

[swordofzero]

Suzaku hadn't really expected her to, after all those belt things wouldn't work if there were Knightmare's to go up against. "They are giant robot machines that people drive. They are powered on Sakuradite."

Suzaku frowned, how did you drive a knightmare frame anyways? He couldn't seem to remember, he tried to visualise the Lancelot's controls and his head filled with fog.

[brokencrane]

Huh. Well, giant robot machines didn't sound that much more farfetched than the belts, really. "So you fight with those in your world, then?"

[swordofzero]

Suzaku nodded, "They are a Britannian weapon, but have been developed by terrorist groups as well especially in Jap..." He caught himself, "Area..." He caught himself again realising who he was talking to, "Japan." It was Japan now anyways, Lelouch's reign had ended Britannian society and soon, if their plan worked the idea of countries been called by numbered areas would be a distant bad memory.

If their plan worked, with both of them, and Lloyd and Cecile and most the other people they knew in this world and not their own what was the chance of that. Schneizel had probably won by now, the world was probably subdued under Damocles.

No he had to keep positive, he was still talking to Yuka. "I was just wondering, I don't think many other worlds have them. So these belts, how do they turn you into hero? Do they make you stronger?"

Terrorist or not Yuka was a good distraction from biology.

[brokencrane]

Yuka frowned. Developed by terrorist groups in Japan? Why would Japan need to develop terrorist weapons...? Suzaku-san's world really must be odd.

"Oh, yes, they make you a lot stronger. And you need them to defeat Orphenochs-- er, the bad people from Smart Brain, because normal humans can't hurt them."

[swordofzero]

Suzaku blinked, "Smart brain?" Was that an organisation? She had called them bad people, bad people who normal people couldn't hurt... That didn't really fit with her claim that her world did not have wars and was peaceful.

[brokencrane]

"That's what the company is called... I'm not sure what the regular hum-- um, people, think that they do, but they lead the bad Orphenochs..."

[swordofzero]

"Bad Orphenochs?" Yuka's world was starting to sound less and less like the peaceful world she had made it out to be before.

[brokencrane]

Oops. Somehow she ended up talking about them anyway. How to explain this, he hadn't said anything about his world having non-humans... "Um...well, Orphenochs are different from humans. And the ones in Smart Brain are bad and attack humans."
