When Children Gather

Location: One of the pavilions hidden in the woods.
Summary: Lyra and Mei try to get an alliance amongst the younger students going. (During 4th Day color swap event, btw!)

[Hey, kid, did you get that note? Someone may have passed it to you between classes or during mealtime or told you about it directly, in hushed tones like it should be a secret. The information was simple: some kids thought it might be a good idea to form an alliance, to keep other kids from having to get dragged into any actual fighting. There were also directions, to a shaded simple wooden pavilion in the woods.

A huge blanket has been laid down over the floor of the pavilion, not unlike a picnic blanket. Lyra brought along snacks; cans of soda and other treats. At one corner of the blanket are pieces of paper held down by a rock, along with pencils and pens, in case they needed to take notes or record anything.]

[Mei is patrolling the pavilion's clearing, keeping an eye out for people in the woods. Her hair is pink! Sure, the rest of her has different colors, too, but the pink is the most important part. Did we mention the pink?

There is nothing in the world that can bring her down off that bit of happiness, because her hair is pink. That makes the day awesome.]

[There is a Fletcher showing up, clutching the note in his hand. He also looks rather horrible thanks to the glitch, and is pretty nervous.]

[Lyra cleared her throat, and gazed across the assembled group.]

All right, this is what my intention is. You might know already, but if you get five weapons, you don't have to fight anymore.

I want to set something up so all of us can use that part of the rules- if we all promise that we'll all be the Weapons of whichever kids are players during a round, then they'll get five tokens and won't have to fight at all if they have five Weapons.

The next thing I want to talk about, en't something I'll ask all of you... Just those of you who're used to doing dangerous stuff, and are willing to do it again.

Mei and I... We want to find out the secrets of this school- what's being hidden from us. Maybe, just maybe, there's something in those secrets that'll let us find a way back to our own worlds. But again- this could be dangerous, so we don't want everyone to sign up.

[Lyra's not affected by the glitch- except for her uniform, anyway. But she greets him with a big smile.]

Fletcher, good to see you!

Um-- hi, Lyra. [nods to her] How come we're all meeting out here?

You'll see. [Only smiling a little now. And looking around.]

Just sit down and have some soda.

Ah, okay. [nods, and finally stuffs the note into a pocket. He sits down and waits]

[He fusses with the necklace partially embedded into his neck, a little worried-like.] Um... well, I already have a Link Charm with my brother... He's not gonna be a Player next round since he was this round but if he ever is again then I'm automatically his Weapon, so... I can help, but not always.

That's fine then. Besides, it means you only need four more Weapons next time you're a player, right?

[Leaning against a tree, out of sight but within earshot, listening curiously to the proceedings.

Sherlock is generally unobtrusive, but his current combination of cherry-red hair and greenish-blue skin is not helping with that, and he's hardly making an effort to conceal himself. Anyone who wanders away from the pavilion has a good chance of spotting him.]

Right. [nod!] ...oh, um-- do you think we should get Link Charms to help? All of us, I mean?

Maybe- but they're expensive, right? Five tokens each... Besides, if we make the promise anyway, maybe we won't need 'em?

Oh, right... I guess that's true.

[And guess who went out for a little walk and spotted him!]

[He opens his eyes and looks at her.] Good afternoon, miss.

What're you doing here? We're having a meeting.

I thought it would be impolite to join uninvited.
