You have to prepare for a fight

Location: Dining hall (before, during, and after)
Summary: After training with Huashi and Kotarou, Kallen decides it's a good idea to eat. Although uh... she decides to pick up a sandwich and can't remember how to eat it.

It's just been a long... a very long day for Kallen. First, she was announced as a Player, then Gino almost damn near passed out on her, and for the finish, training with Huashi mainly so she could get used to the girl's weapon. Kallen had some time ahead of her so she wanted to be prepared. The next day she would spend some time watching some of the other fights.

Kallen looked up at the sky and the sun was fading into the background. She made the decision to head to the dining hall to grab something to eat. She made a mindless choice and picked up a sandwich. Sitting down at a near by table, she stared at her plate and at her food.

Just how was she supposed to eat this?

"You could tell?!" Mei looked down, a hand going to her chin as she asided. Except it wasn't an aside at all, because there was no audience and, well, Kallen could hear it. "...she must be a ninja..."

She looked up again. "What! He did?!"

That obviously huh...

[She slides her hand on the front of her face, still in disbelief that well, she can't remember.]

It's not that there's anything wrong with it... but I can't remember how to eat it. Guess it's one of my lost memories.

"I'm not a ninja. I used be 'military trained'." Meaning, she can see and know you're there for like 10 miles away.

"Yes, he did."

An eyebrow cocked, Sulu holds out his bag by the strap. "There's a pen in the front pocket."

"You're a soldier?"

Wait, that would be a tangent for another time. Mei's expression falls into misery at the revelation of Gino's 'betrayal'. "B-but... me, Gino, and Grenn are supposed to be a team."

[brokencrane]

Oh, I see... [Yuka is suddenly very relieved that nothing she forgot was quite so...silly.] That's not a nice memory for them to make you lose. It's just mean.

She took the bag into her hand and opened it up. Kallen pulled out his shoes along with the pen he mentioned. She flipped them to the underside and wrote a 'L' on the left one and a 'R' on the right one. Then, she handed them to Sulu.

"That should help."

[queenscheckmate]

It's not the only one. [But Kallen wouldn't mention that she forgot how to put on a bra.] But at least I was able to figure it out. They don't exactly care if they're nice or not.

"I was." But this place was slowly turning her into one. And Kallen shrugged at Mei's next line. That had nothing to do with her. "Get used to disappointment." It sounded harsher than it was intended.

[brokencrane]

No, I guess they don't... I didn't realize they'd made people forget dumb things like that, though.

[looks at the sandwich again] ...Maybe you could cut it into pieces?

[idkmybffxiao]

"W-what.." Get used to disappointment, huh? "...oh."

And that was that. Mei fell silent and stared down at the floor under the table.

For their amusement I'm sure.

I'm not even sure if that would work.

[brokencrane]

I mean, little pieces. Because if what you've forgotten is how to eat a sandwich, maybe it'll work if you don't eat it like a sandwich?

"I can't say or make excuses for Gino. But if you think I tricked him or anything like that, it's not the truth."

[queenscheckmate]

[She had a good point.]

So eat it with a fork...

[brokencrane]

Right! [smiles a little] I don't know if it would work, really, but you could try it...

[queenscheckmate]

[Kallen nods, goes off to find a knife and a fork before sitting back down. A cutting she goes.]

[drinks her tea and watches!]

[Okay, the pieces are small enough... maybe this will work. Stab and nom... This feels unholy....]

[brokencrane]

[it does look a little weird...b-but it's better than not eating?]

[She puts the utensils down.]

I can't. It doesn't feel right...

[orz] M-Maybe you should just not each sandwiches for while.

Sounds like a good idea. [She gets up and returns with a salad for now.]
