Summary: Manipulation and exposition

[Lelouch is chillin' in the common room of the Black dorm, studying. Well, not studying anything related to any class taught on campus. Instead, he has several cook books spread out on the coffee table, and he has one on his lap over crossed legs. He's trying to figure out what is off in his cooking.]

"Is there anything else?" The two had known each other long enough and trusted each other enough to be able to read each other. Well, Lelouch was a bit better at blocking Suzaku out when the need arose, but the reverse was not true.

Suzaku sighed and picked up one of his books. It made no sense and it definatly didn't distract him. "Well," he fell silent for a moment but he knew Lelouch would just keep prying until he made Suzaku speak.

"I was talking to a... friend... of his, he's lived for a long time, like CC. So has Shoryu apparantly, but Enki couldn't remember that Shoryu was his king and he told me that he detests fighting, completely and hates the idea of fighting even but that his king forced him to fight..."

"I didn't realise Shoryu was his king until I'd already agreed to be his weapon." He fell silent, he was still confused because when he had seen Enki and Shoryu together they seemed to be friends but that didn't fit with what Enki had said. He sighed again.

"Just like C.C.?" He expected Suzaku to pick up the nuances of that question. He didn't know who could be listening, and he didn't want the details getting out. "The same could have been said for you, once."

Suzaku nodded with a frown, "I'm not sure, he said that it was the will of heaven that allowed him to bestow the powers of king on Shōryū, and that he did it in return that the king made the land a green and peaceful one." It was a strange sort of contract but Suzaku knew nothing about what the contracts were that the code givers made with those they bestowed powers on, apart from that they existed.

"However he made it sound like he had to obey his king, like he had no choice and that's why he could be forced to fight."

At the comparison Suzaku shook his head and frowned slightly, "I'm not sure I think he meant it differently, he didn't just like killing, the whole idea of violence at all was abhorent to him... He said that it was against his nature as a Kirin." Suzaku assumed that Kirin was either his rank or their word for the immortal's of their world, code givers or not.

Lelouch nodded, taking all of this into consideration. "Another King..." This place was rather fond of its royalty, it seemed. "Shoryu has been assigned to this dorm. I'll have to keep an eye on this matter, to see if anything can be done with it. A proper Player and Weapon relationship can be a useful one."

Suzaku nodded, he was sure that Lelouch would be able to use this to his advantage. He sttudied the cover of his alchemy book again before speaking, "If you need a player, he is happy to take on anyone," he had told Shoryu that he would ask and so he did, he wasn't sure if Lelouch would want to though.

"I'll consider it," he replied. And he did, for about a moment. He wasn't interested in being at the disposal of someone like that. "I have some options I'm considering."

Suzaku nodded and left it there, he picked up the top book on the pile and frowned at it before flicking it open to the first page and beginning to read.

"This makes no sense," he said after a few minutes of reading.

"Oh?" he glanced over. He'd been intrigued when he saw the cover, wondering just how alchemy could possibly be made much more than a paragraph in history, let alone an entire textbook.

Suzaku passed the book to Lelouch, figuring that he would understand more of it then Suzaku could hope to. "I have no idea, it seems to be speaking like alchemy is real."

He took it and read through it quickly. As he went on, he appeared more and more amused. "The classes just become more pointless as time goes on, don't they?" He passed the book back over. The number of classes Lelouch had attended since coming here could be counted on one hand. And that was only because he needed to contact people in them.

Suzaku nodded, the classes were getting stranger, half the things they taught made no sense and even if there were worlds were this alchemy existed it wasn't this world and it wasn't the world he had come from so it was of very little use.

He fell silent again and went back to reading.
