(no subject)

Characters: Lelouch vi Britannia, Suzaku Kururugi, Shoryu, AND YOU
Format: Going action taggy mainly because I'm tired. If you want prose, I'll do it.
This log is: open
Location: Black dorm common room
Summary: Manipulation and exposition
Warnings: See above

[Lelouch is chillin' in the common room of the Black dorm, studying. Well, not studying anything related to any class taught on campus. Instead, he has several cook books spread out on the coffee table, and he has one on his lap over crossed legs. He's trying to figure out what is off in his cooking.]

[Pleas bother him.]

Suzaku raises his eyebrows at Enki slightly amused but not showing it on his face. He nods at Lloyd and Lelouch and stands silently.
goodtobetheking: (question; this could be problematic)

Oi. [but it's an amused objection, because clearly the kirin doesn't remember using that exact line on another royal scant years ago.]

Sir Suzaku and I have met, yes. [mainly because the boy is easily manipulated by kirins, but clearly Lelouch knows that. Lloyd gets a nod, but he doesn't seem particularly interested in Shōryū and he returns the favour.] Lelouch, this is Enki, the kirin of En and my taiho.
earlofpudding: (I told you so~)

It did! Hardly the worst memory to lose, but what a bother...

[If he didn't need his name to know that he's a Player, he probably wouldn't even be asking for someone to write what it is down. It wasn't important before now! He'll take the bit of paper once Lelouch is done writing.

He'll give the king and his kirin a curious look at the round of introductions, but, really, he has no interest in them. He'll give them a little finger-wiggling wave before twirling back towards the doors to stroll off again. The scientist waves the slip of paper with his name on in the air as he goes.
]

Bye-bye, everyone~.

[Enki barely tosses Lloyd a glance as the man leaves, more confused about the lack of reaction from Shōryū. It hadn't been too bad of a snark, but Enki shomehow gets the feeling Shōryū has heard this (or something close to it) before. Which is utterly Ridiculous, because he hasn't used that one before!

But now that Shōryū has seen fit to introduce him (but not himself, don't think he didn't notice that, Shōryū!), Enki supposes he has to at least make a show of politeness.

Which translates into a nod in Lelouch's direction and then he turns to Suzaku, an eyebrow raised, doubt heavy in his voice as he speaks. He doesn't like this one. Doesn't even have Shōryū's adamant greed of his people being like his own self.]

That's the one? He's really important enough for you? [A look at Lelouch again and then back to Suzaku.] Maybe. [Enki finally relents, but there's a faint haze of blood in the air, and ghostly strains of hate.

That one is like any other ruler, Enki can feel it from here. And there is no proof he's even remotely like Shōryū.]
swordofzero: (no!)

[Suzaku gives Lloyd a small smile as he says goodbye and then turns back to the introductions, even though he knows everyone in the room already. He looked towards Enki as he spoke and then raised his eyebrow in turn.

He bristles a bit because Enki had never met Lelouch and seems to dislike him instantly. Suzaku hadn't said anything against Lelouch, unlike what Enki had said about his king.

At least Lelouch had never forced him to fight, that was a choice Suzaku had made alone. He glared at Shōryū when he remembered that and then looked back to Enki]

He's important enough to rule Britannia, which covers half the world. [It probably didn't help that his voice was bitter when he said Britannia or that he didn't actually look happy about the fact, the plans of Zero Requiem, his head went fuzzy at the name, swirled in his mind. He looked away, not meeting anyones eyes.]
goodtobetheking: (hmm; totally listening carry on)

[personal profile] goodtobetheking 2011-03-13 01:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[likewise, Lloyd gets a nod as he leaves. Sigh, Enki, for a peaceable creature you sure are good at offending royalty.]

This is a kirin. [he indicates Enki again, who isn't exactly looking his best perched on the table and scowling at everything in general.] A creature of the purest benevolence and mercy, and the second half of the being known as a ruler. The proper term for his rank would be saiho, but taiho is used as a term of respect. I'm sure you cannot imagine why... [yes, his kirin is getting a Look. And Shoryu is a flaming hypocrite.] He prefers not to act his age.
choseanidiot: (pfft)

[personal profile] choseanidiot 2011-03-13 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm stuck in my human form here. [Enki interrupts briefly and rolls his eyes at Shōryū's longer explanation of 'what he is'. He'd have added 'pathetic' in there somewhere, but Shōryū just doesn't seem to agree about that part.

The man's obviously doing his very best to take attention off himse--- Oh, he thinks he's clever using the age dig, eh?]

I have no idea what you're talking 'bout, old man. I'm thirteen, ain't I? [Enki's face smooths out from its scowl into something more unassuming, and with the added headtilt, he does indeed look young and 'innocent'.]

Besides, who're you to talk about respect? When you earn it, you'll get it! Until then, I'll just make sure you keep improving En, and not take a bad turn somewhere. That's what the title is about. Keeping leashes on rampaging kings. [Enki tosses a smirk at Shōryū, briefly having forgotten they have a (not-used-to-them) audience.]

[personal profile] swordofzero 2011-03-14 12:02 am (UTC)(link)
[Human form? Enki had a non human form? Suzaku blinked and frowned because he knew that Enki was not only thirteen, he had told him that when they had first spoken. He also rises his eyebrow at Enki's words to Shōryū but he kept silent. He found the way the two spoke to each other strange but made no comment. He was feeling a little embarased by his outburst and so just stayed quiet waiting for others to speak.]
goodtobetheking: (mmhmm; fascinating)

[personal profile] goodtobetheking 2011-03-17 09:22 am (UTC)(link)
[and in return Enki gets a smile and a novel lightly tapped against the side of his head, before Shōryū continues talking to Lelouch.]

Oh? Might I ask what system Britannia uses? Whether you select your rulers based on their ability or their parentage, for example.
choseanidiot: (Default)

[personal profile] choseanidiot 2011-03-17 11:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Considering Brittannia seems to be in a world pretty much like Hourai, Enki guess is something closer to parentage (if things go as they 'should'), and not chosen for ability.

It has seemed, through the years of his visiting Japan and, lately, being able to more easily read about the surrounding world in the modern-day Japan, that monarchies are most often based on heritage.

He doesn't say anything, though, just flicking the novel away. He does know how to be quiet, after all.]

[personal profile] swordofzero 2011-03-17 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)
[Suzaku also kept quiet throughout the exchange, after all Lelouch was much more capable at explaining Britannian nobility than Suzaku was. He felt like he had already said too much and so he just watched both Shoryu and Lelouch letting them speak.]
goodtobetheking: (&enki; serious king times)

[personal profile] goodtobetheking 2011-03-18 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I believe they have a similar system in some areas of Hourai, or the theory has been discussed. [he rests his chin back on his hand, thinking back to the various interesting yet entirely irrelevant texts he's had the kirin filch from the other world over the centuries.] Social Darwinism, isn't it? To rule without the mandate of heaven.

[he doesn't think they do, from what he's seen and heard so far, but he's always interested in countries more like Hourai, without tangible deities.]
choseanidiot: (ignoring you - all you deserve)

[personal profile] choseanidiot 2011-03-18 06:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[And this is Enki's cue to sigh loudly, lifting his hands to rest behind his head.]

I knew I shouldn't have brought you stuff... [Enki mutters, not loud enough to actually disturb the beginning discussion Shōryū and Lelouch have going, and gives Shōryū a half-annoyed stare.

And he's not sure Shōryū is using that term as it should be used, but he's not read enough on that social theory to know what seems wrong. He's frankly been more interested in the parts where the people Over There have become more self-determining, choosing their rulers (not that that have saved them in the long run).]
swordofzero: (polite and friendly)

[personal profile] swordofzero 2011-03-19 11:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Suzaku was quiet as he listened to the two speak, he knew a little about how Enki's world worked from the little he had explained and it sounded very different that their own. He raised an eyebrow at Enki not understanding what he meant, but now wasn't really the time to ask. He sat silently interested in the conversation.]
