[throughout the week, the receptionists are fairly into their roles as 'sages', putting on mystical voices when appropriate and generally being helpful to friendlier students. Other than that, there isn't much to note about the lobby. Students wishing to exchange treasures for the next clue should come here.]

"It is indeed, well done!" The receptionist he'd addressed took the egg carefully and set it down in a basket on her section of the desk. A quick scan of her monitor later, and she smiled. "Locke Cole? As you're a Player, you can hear the next clue now, if you like."

Locke grinned, happy about being right.

"Sure, let's keep this hunt going."

"Let's see... ahem!" She composed herself and, with a fairly practised 'mysterious' voice, said, "A tongue I have, and a soul too. Yet I speak not, nor do I live. Though I am trodden underfoot, I remain firm and proud. What am I?"

And then she smiled again. "Did you get that?"

"Yeah, I got it....hmm"

He thought for a moment. This couldn't be that hard could-

"Wait. I've got it."

He threw the woman a playful smile.

"Do I have to wait to tell you?

"If you have your guess with you, you don't have to wait."

[kings_thief]

"Then my answer is 'a shoe'."

[utopiamods]

For a second, the receptionist looked surprised.

"Correct again," she nodded, and held out a hand for the 'treasure'. It was a good thing the dorms contained spares.

For just a moment Locke looked surprised then confused, but amusement was the final look expression he decided on.

"I have to give you my shoe...ah well."

He took off his boot and placed it between them.

"I hope I get this back at some point, I like these boots."

[utopiamods]

"You can collect it on the next rest day," she assured him, taking the boot and stowing it next to the basket. "The next clue is," this time she neglected to use the sage voice, for time's sake, "Hands but no fingers have I, a face without a head. Standing without a single limb, or hung but never dead."

[kings_thief]

"Ah...ok..I guess I need to go find one."

Locke looked perplexed for a moment. If only he weren't so new to the area. Well, he'd just have to look around.

"I'll be back."

He could get some shoes while he was at it.

And he's back, with a clock, don't ask him where he got it.

"Here, I think this is what your riddle was talking about!"

Ah, that looked like one of the clocks from... well. They'd expected this when they were given the riddles, really.

"Very good! The next one?"

[kings_thief]

He beamed. "Yes please."
