queenscheckmate: we are young (backside look; yes?)

[backdated to the 29th] One year older

Characters: Kallen and you.
Format: Prose or action, whichever is fine.
This log is: Open
Location: Courtyard.
Summary: It's everyone's favorite ace's birthday. Except she doesn't know what quite what to do with herself today.
Kallen sat under one of the trees in the courtyard, pressing her back against the bark of the tree. Today was her birthday and well... she never took the time to celebrate it; at least not after her brother passed away. She was too busy to remember it at times. But this seemed to be different. After all, she had all the time in the world to just sit and think.

Normally people would treat themselves. But those 'people' were normal and didn't go out to fight a war like she did.

Maybe it was best to do nothing today and treat it like any other day.

Nineteen huh...

"Kallen?" Grenn had thought to either read a book, or review some of her own 'coursework' when she came across Kallen in the courtyard. Not unusual in itself, but the faint expression had made Grenn pause (for, uh... five minutes before she approached her, but let's ignore that part!) and then call out.

"... Something wrong?" Well, what wasn't wrong in this place, anyway? She had to admit that some part of her, especially since Romeo and her had walked around and found one of the towers humming, was expecting something like round zero to happen again. It seemed inevitable, and, well... it wouldn't be permanent, so what would the 'admins' care what sort of trauma they inflicted?

"Hey, ace," Gino, at least, knew her birthday. Admittedly this was because he'd been bored and checking her file at a booth as her age had updated, but a birthday was a birthday. Stalkerish behaviour or not. "How does it feel to be nineteen?"
