I have personally observed its effects, yes. I believe in vampires in much the same way that I believe in cockroaches.

I was attacked by a vampire when I was fifteen. I fought him off. Subsequently I discovered other supernatural phenomena. I can make an exhaustive list of the evidence if you really prefer, but I think the moment when I shined an ultraviolet laser on one of them and watched him catch fire resolved the last of my doubts.

I don't know the precise mechanics offhand. A physics or engineering textbook might tell you more.

It means that brother is not quite the word and I have no particular urge to explain why.

Just so I know where to begin my explanation, can you tell me a little more about music in your world?

I wouldn't know where to begin, really, though I suppose... If you know about Her Majesty but not about ergaleomancy, perhaps we can assume the break in our timelines occurred some time around then? There's classical music, of course, orchestral, suchlike...

Then there's lyrical music, that is to say, songs that are intended to tell a story, usually with instrumental backing that helps with the dramatic nature of the tale...

And there's chap-hop, a miserable concoction of the lower classes... [[That Theta quiet enjoys listening to despite its impropriety, despite how she tries to play up her disapproval of it, probably too hard to be entirely believable.]]

In the latter half of the twentieth century, there came into being a fascinating genre called rock'n'roll, populated by a myriad of distinct groups each producing their own unique developments on the theme. Also considered by some to be a miserable concoction, but I am extremely fond of it.
