Meet and Greet [shopping intro]

Whilst the four still tied to a school had been up since that morning, warned only at the last minute about the incoming train, Recette had managed to sleep in and avoid the panic. In fact, the first hint she got that all was not as it had been was the Mayor paying her a visit near midday and inviting her to watch the arrivals. She had; she'd exclaimed over the variety and how many new friends they were going to have now - it had been a little lonely that week, with just six of them who weren't parts of the city instead of people - and then she hurried back to get her shop open.

So! The sign proclaims RAKETTE: OFFICIAL EXACLAN SHOP, and the entire facade is covered in a fresh coat of bright paint. The snow in front of the shop has been swept away, making it highly obvious on the street. Items are arrayed on shelves and in the windows of the shop - charms, foodstuffs, uniforms and sundry items of clothing. She hadn't really had any idea what the new people might like when she was setting up, so most of it is just leftover stock from their session, but maybe they'd find something they liked. She hopes so. There are a fair few jumpers, hoodies, coats and scarves on the tables inside the shop.

The interior sorted, she sets the sign out in the road: WELCOME TO RAKUEN! FREE WALNUT BREAD FOR NEW STUDENTS AND TEACHERS! SPECIAL OFFER: PDAs ONLY 8 RAKS. and waits for someone to enter the main street.

After Shion finished looking around the campus he was a little calmer. He was still confused and still wanted to go back to the West Town, he had to be there, to help Rat and rescue Safu and bring down the wall...

He blinked at the shop and entered smiling at the girl behind the counter. "Hello."

His entry was greeted by the sweet-toned bell over the door, and a near-simultaneous, "Welcome!" from Recette, "Have you just arrived today?"

Shion nodded with a smile, "I have miss," she looked very young to be running a shop. Maybe she was just watching it for her parents. "Do you live here?"

[Red walks quietly into the store and goes straight for the shelves, trying to get an idea of what they sell. Nothing seems very useful -- they have some food, but he mainly buys that for wilderness survival, and the rest of the trinkets seem overspecialized and overpriced. (He does make a mental note to look further through the Exaclan manual; it's not pokemon battling, but apparently it's important here.) After a moment, though, he picks up a Link Charm. The girl at the train said he might need one, but it looks expensive compared to everything else... He roots through his pockets and examines his coins, not entirely sure how much they're worth.]

"Yep," she leant forward on her shopkeeper's stool. He was in green and black, which meant he was at the school she didn't know as much about. She guessed they were similar, though. "Since last week! Let's see... You're in Fortitude?"

[ and being a helpful little shopkeeper, Recette has approached in the meantime. ]

Um! Excuse me, but you pro'ly don't want to buy something like that now. You don't have that many raks yet.

[hugling]

[Teddy walks up and holds up one of his ten rak pieces. He looks a little lost.]

Uh, excuse me? What do I need to buy?

Er, I don't think you need to buy anything yet... Didn't you only just get here? But would you like some walnut bread? It's yummy!

[HOLDS OUT THE TRAY WITH DETERMINATION]

[hugling]

Okay. [he takes a piece and is about to bite in when he stops.] Wait, does this cost money?

Nopers! It's totally free 'cause you're a new customer.

[hugling]

Awesome!

[ohm nom nom]

This is pretty good walnut bread.

[yaycapitalism]

It's the best! I had it ordered the first week I got here, you know! No world should have to live without it. [ she sounds so serious, like you have no idea how vital walnut bread is for the wellbeing of the multiverse ]

[hugling]

I've never had it before, but I'm sure they have it somewhere in New York.

[wait a minute]

Is this a different world?

Um, yep? [ she looks a little baffled; it's obvious that most of the staff totally forgot how little they'd known when they first arrived. ]

"Oh, did you arrive on the train as well?"

He nodded, "So the prefects said. I don't know why I am here at all though." He looks around the shop, most of the products are things he doesn't recognize.

[hugling]

Okay. Well. That's awesome. [it's not awesome.] Do you know how to get home?

"Yuppers! Last spring. But I'm jealous... you got to arrive in the snow." She slipped off the stool to walk around the counter, better to talk. "Santana and Nanami? Eheheh, they probably explained it in a really silly way."

Yeah! You've gotta win the game. That's what we did.

[hugling]

...Right, okay. Uh, what do the phones do? Can I call my world?

[yaycapitalism]

Aww... No. They only work in Rakuen. They're really useful, though!

[hugling]

Can I get on the internet and check my email and stuff?

[Not yet in her uniform, her bag hangs from one shoulder as she wanders in from the road and casts a few looks around the place. Finding the counter, or Recette at least, she cocks her head.] What's a P-D-A?

Er...

I dunno what the name means, but it's a nifty machine that lets you speak to other people when they're nowhere near you!

[ she holds out the plate of walnut bread as she says this. ]

[hugling]

...Uh. Okay, never mind. I'll take one.

[hands over his ten rak piece.]
