[Okay this rights thing? Complete and total bull shit. It hadn't bothered her at first, because she didn't care what kind of food she was eating because it was all human food. But when she tries to go to the library and is turned away because she doesn't have permission? Fuck that. It had taken almost all of her resistance to not curb stomp the person that had denied her entrance. She's trying to be less of a terrible person. So instead she'd stormed back to rap on Dave's door loudly and undoubtedly obnoxiously.]

[Library - Open to All]

[After getting Dave's permission, she's holed herself up in the library with a stack of books on what she hopes is the right thing. She has absolutely no idea what she's looking for, honestly. She's pretty sure half the books she's grabbed are useless. Well, whatever. She'll check them out anyway. She just refuses to ask Dave or John to teach her this whole sign language business. Especially after John had assumed she wouldn't want to learn it. The nerve.

Okay, this book is useless. She tosses it to the side, onto another pile of books that haven't been helpful at all. Ugh, this is annoying. She picks up another book, flipping it open and burying her face in it.]

[So she didn't think of how she was going to word this before she got there. She's just glaring and annoyed.]

I need your permission to go to the library. [Wow that feels like bile as she says it.]

[He stares at her for a moment. The strongest thought that came to his head seriously really was just 'Wow Vriska reads.' or something. Oh...she's here for permission though. Whatever. He motions for her to follow him and he casually just gets out to head to the library.

Whatever. If she wants to go to the library, then they'll fucking go to the library.]

[Wow, that's fucking suspicious. Now he knows something is up. He tilts his head to the side.]

[Her eyes flick over the screen and she drags a hand through her hair. This is absolutely not how it was supposed to go. Whatever, she'll just ditch him once they're in the library. It should be big enough to do that, right?

She stalks after him. Annoyed? You bet she is.]

[The trip to the library is relatively short and quiet. He doesn't mind either, of course. It means Vriska must be sour and that's always funny to him.]

[Wow, what an asshole. Once they get to the library and she gets let in with permission, she immediately absconds to the opposite side to start looking for books. When she doesn't think anyone's looking - especially Dave - she slips over to the language section to begin perusing.]

[HOLY FUCK. She freezes like she's been caught red-handed. And really, she has, considering the stack of sign language books she's holding. She snorts and re-composes herself as she rolls her eyes.]

No! He didn't think I could do it so I'm going to do it on my own. What the hell are you even doing over here? Stalking me, Strider? Really?? I didn't know you cared.

[Dave doesn't look like he actually gives a shit. He goes back to typing though.]

[She stares at him for a while, brows furrowing. She's really not used to offers of help from anyone. It's not a troll thing.]

[She doesn't like Dave, and she really doesn't want to take him up on the offer. She considers turning him down but when she considers John's happiness into the equation it changes things. If learning from Dave could help her learn quicker... But does she really want to put up with Dave for any longer than she needs to?]

[God, what was he signing himself up for? Probably a lot of back and forth sass and being around Vriska more then he needed to be around her for.]

the alphabet should be easy to learn if you can remember shit easily

but then we need to get into more then just the alphabet
there are certain gestures that mean entire sentences

[This sounds complicated and annoying but she's not just going to back down from it now. It's pretty much a challenge at this point and Vriska Serket doesn't say no to a challenge. Even if it means putting up with a jackass for an unknown amount of time.]

Memorization won't be a problem. I already know two languages anyway. Learning a third isn't going to be hard.

[She drops the books she's holding on a table nearby.]

Fine. You can help, I guess.

[You're his Weapon anyways. You're going to be at least stuck with him for a week.]

[This is a recipe for disaster. She's already dreading it with every fiber in her being.]

Whatever. Just show me here. It'd be pointless to go somewhere else at this point.

[She sits down and waits.]

[He puts the PDA on the table, where she put the book down. On the screen was the entire alphabet in order.

He holds his arms up and slowly goes through each letter for her. Pausing between each letter before continuing to the next.]

[She copies them and she feels stupid. This looks ridiculous. She'll have to practice in the privacy of her own room later too. She glances between his hands and the PDA, trying to commit the letters to memory.]

[Yeah, well. At least you're signing to someone who knows what it is. You haven't had the misfortune of signing to people who just think you're flailing around stupidly.

He folds his arms for a moment to let her copy a bit before he goes through the alphabet a second time. He'll probably hold off on going too far. He might teach her simple things like saying 'hey' or other greetings that people usually do to start small talk.]

[She goes through it again and it feels no less silly this time than last time. And her eyes flick around the room to make sure no one else is staring.]

This is so inefficient.

[He shrugs a bit. He hasn't even gotten to words and phrases yet.

Welcome to the life of those who can't talk and hear and what they go through to get around. He points at Vriska. He's expecting you to sign him the alphabet. He'll correct her if she screws up.]

[Really? Way to put her on the spot, Dave. She sort of fumbles through it, and definitely gets a few letters wrong.]

[Dave surprisingly doesn't do anything douchebag like. He just signs the letters she signs wrong and points out when her signs get a little hard to understand.

Other then that, it was surprisingly...well he isn't being an ass.

[Even if he isn't being an ass about it, she still hates being corrected because she hates not getting things right on the first try. Her eyes read over the PDA and what. Is that actually a compliment? Weird. She's starting to consider that maybe she should have pestered Dave back when she was in the Veil. A pointless thought because it's too little too late for any of that.]
