It's a bright and sunny weekday morning. The sort of morning one should be spending sleeping in, or failing that, outside playing with friends.

Sadly for all of you, you're in this classroom studying logarithms. (Well, except for those of you who are cutting class. Good luck when finals roll around!) Right now, you've been split up into groups of three and four and should be quizzing each other on the questions from the end of the chapter in your textbook. If you're anything like ordinary high school students, though, you're probably discussing something completely different.

"It's all right." Kallen understood that there was no way Hiyo was going to get through this math class. "I wonder if there's someone we can talk to about this."

"I-I'm sorry for being able to do this..." she glanced off to the side, at the feet of some other poor soul in class. "Do you know anyone who's good at math?"

"No, don't apologize. It's not your fault, Hiyo." She looked up at the ceiling for a split second. "I am good at math, but if you can't remember how to count, then none of this is going to make any sense, no matter who helps you. And it's not fair to you to have to be in this class because of a memory you didn't choose to get taken away from you."

"Isn't there a way to restore memories?" she asked, as she had heard about the method to regain those last fragments, but Hiyo wasn't too occupied with the idea of regaining them, however they seemed important to get back (why the hell did she forget how to count?).

"There is from what I remember. To be honest, I haven't picked up the book they gave us in the beginning. But from what I gather from the videos, there is." Kallen set her blue eyes on Hiyo. "I wonder if you could choose what memories you can have returned to you."

"Knowing Iwahijiri," Hiyo paused, taking a moment to look darkly into the air. "It's probably at random. I don't think they'd give you the freedom to choose which one you'd get."

"Iwahijiri?" That was a unfamiliar name to Kallen. But were they behind what was going on? As to why their memories were missing?

Hiyo contemplated whether or not to give this type of information to Kallen; while it was common knowledge amongst a small amount of students, she wondered if knowing more about the masterminds behind Utopia Academy and it's game would make it easier to lure this other student in as an ally.

She decided to say only just a little bit.

"They're a group of people - men - who had control over my version of the school and game," she started, "They take pride in male dominance and used the game as an excuse to show it off. The male students oppressed the female students, we had no freedom." The little girl wanted to go on more about the group of men she wanted to overcome, to rant and let out the frustration she had pent up but she reminded herself to keep it all cool; things would eventually fall into place.

"Do you think they're the ones calling the shots here?" Kallen treaded carefully. She remembered Tsuki giving her Hiyo's name. She figured that the older girl would have told her but maybe she didn't remember that either.

"Most likely. If they went so far to get other people from other places and bring them here, making them fight with us..." She looked up to Kallen. "Have you been participating in the battles, Kallen? Do you have an owner?"

"No, on both accounts. I am not going to fight blindly.. I don't plan on giving the enemy what they want when I don't know what's going on." That was her story and she was sticking to it.

There was an interesting answer. She would have laughed, but now was not an appropriate time.

"Oh, I see!" She chirped, nodding. "That makes sense. Why take part in something when you don't even know anything about it?" A smile enlightened her lips.

Kallen almost jerked her head back in shock. People that she was being silly or wreckless with her plan... but to have someone understand without explaining her life story (not that Tsuki heard her life story but the important parts). "Huh..."

"I was done fighting in my world. I'm not doing to 'jump' worlds and start fighting again."

"What about your friends here? If something happens to them while they're playing Exaclan, would you ignore them?" she tilted her head, questioning Kallen's mindset. She couldn't just ignore everything, she'd have to have some sort of role in all of this.

"Gino can handle his own. He's the only friend I have here." Well the only friend she considered for the time being. Their relationship was back on good terms. As for Lelouch and the others... she wouldn't exactly call them friends at this point.

Kallen had seem like a person who had many friends, Hiyo noted. To hear that she only had one other friend was, as everything else was, interesting.

"You should make some more friends! There's a lot of nice people here," she sat up. "I'll be your friend, okay? Now you have two! O-Oh, that is, if you'd like me to be your friend..."

Okay. That caused Kallen to blink a couple of times in shock. "Well, all right then," she laughed. Because of her background, the teenager tended to see people more as allies than friends. And to her, the title made a big difference.

"If you ever need anything, Hiyo is here for you!" She grinned widely. "I'm glad to be friend's with such a cool person~"

A girl who used to be seen as a terrorist is cool to you? "Thank you Hiyo. The same goes for you, all right?"

Hey, if you told her that, it might make you Hiyo's favorite.

"Right, right. Let's be good friends!"

Nah that's cool. "All right."
