Dahlia didn't like this job. She had to be on her feet all day, and the skirt that came with the waitress's uniform was shorter than her school uniform's. At first, the free pizza during her lunch break was nice; but now, after five weeks of working in this place, just the smell was enough to make her gag.

But she kept a smile on her face as she worked. That afternoon, she approached a table of customers, put on her widest grin, and said, "What can I get for you?"

Belarus sat at the table with the other students. She wasn't really socializing with them, nor was she getting along with them — she just tagged along to go to the pizza place to get something to eat, perhaps it would be better than the nasty school's food.

"I don't care. Cheese pizza?"

[traces]

Well, wasn't this person Little Miss Sunshine. Dahlia had to admire her -- she was plainly not pleased to be here, and who would be?

She jotted down a note on her notepad. "And would you like anything to drink, as well? You must be thirsty from the train ride." She hadn't seen this girl, at least, before, so she assumed she was new.

[knifehands]

She frowned at that. How the fuck did this girl know she was new? If it was something Belarus hated, it was when people started to know stuff about her.

"Just water, I suppose."

[babysage]

Kotaro was on his break from the his job at the toy shop and he burst into the pizza place grinning. Food! He liked pizza, he bounced up to the counter and grinned, barely able to see over it.

[trollofthree]

"Whoops, sorry--" she'd managed to step out in front of Gino as he wove his way between tables from the service hatch to table three. He'd swerved in time, and his free, non-pizza juggling hand had gone down to steady her shoulder, at least.

[bloodandfire]

[Dany had wandered into the shop and, well, she has no idea what pizza is]

What is it that you sell here?

[traces]

"All right." She nodded, then looked around to the others at the table. Somebody else want to be here~?

[traces]

As she's heading into the back to get a refill for some entitled whiny bastard, Dahlia notices the small boy standing at the counter.

Oh well, not her job to deal with him.

Unless he speaks to her first.

[traces]

"Eek!" Dahlia stumbled when she noticed Gino, but just managed to steady herself -- until he planted his hand on her shoulder, causing her to jerk her arm and spill the platter of drinks she was carrying.

[traces]

[ Dahlia's just about to go on break when she notices Daenerys. ]

Pizza, miss.

[bloodandfire]

That does not answer my question, I am not familiar with pizza.

[traces]

You aren't? [ uuugh ] It's a kind of food. Would you like to order some?

[trollofthree]

Aaand there was no way he was going to be any help with that, so whilst most of the glasses just toppled or spilled their contents over the tray, one or two enterprising ones made the daring leap to the floor.

Gino surveyed the destruction, hand still on her shoulder, with perhaps a little too much amusement to be professional.

"Wow."

[Dany just lives to make Dahlia's life difficult]

How many Raks would it cost?

[traces]

Dahlia slumped and sighed. Now she was going to get lectured by the manager again, and she was really sick of hearing that blowhard's stupid whiny voice.

And she had soda on her shirt.

"I'm so sorry, Mr Gino!"

[trollofthree]

"Hey, no worries--" Whoa, was she about to cry? He blinked down at her, and let go just to pat her lightly again. And then let go AGAIN to snag her ruined tray. "Seriously, my bad. You go get another one! I'll clean up here."

[traces]

The prices are all listed on the menu, if you'd like one. [ She procures one and hands it over! ] There's also, er, an optional 15% tip...

[traces]

The tears didn't quite fall, but she did sniffle and wipe her eyes with her hand. "I-- I-- Th-thank you so much. I'm ever so grateful."

She turned to run and hide in embarrassment, and take an extra break.

A SHORT WHILE LATER.......

[trollofthree]

"Yo," it was Gino's turn for a breather, so he'd wandered to the break room with two plastic cups of some kind of lemon soda. "It's Dahlia, right? You in here?"

[traces]

Dahlia was there, having changed into a spare shirt, and was sitting at a table perusing the network on her PDA. Did any of the new people have anything interesting to say? No, it didn't look like they did.

"Ah... Yes, Mr. Gino. I'm so sorry for that embarrassing display before."

[bloodandfire]

Thank you. [she takes the menu and looks over the prices, does she really want to waste her Raks on food when she can get food for free elsewhere?] A tip? What is that for?

[traces]

Ah, it's... it's a show of appreciation for the employees here. I-I know I'm not worthy, really, but everyone else here is so wonderful and hard-working...

[bloodandfire]

I'm sure you are a wonderful employee! You have been assisting me when you could be doing something else. I think I will try a slice of this pizza. Which do you prefer?

[traces]

I, um-- th-thank you! Then let me find you a place to sit.

Pepperoni pizza is quite popular. I enjoy it myself. I'll bring you a slice shortly.
