Bookstore:
[The bookstore is a mess. He's struggling to keep up. But he's still got a smile on his face. Yes, he's one of those people that enjoys retail, suck it.]

Infirmary:
[After his day of work, he's exhausted. He goes to the infirmary, and drops heavily into his chair. He picks up a clipboard and goes over the data. Lately he's had to deal with a lot of students getting sick. He needs to run some more tests to try and find the cause. He got up again, and went to some of his equipment in the back of the room. He was not going to be beaten by this puzzle.]

[ He looks down at Sam patiently, watching his reactions; he does seem a different man now. More mature, less unsure of himself. ]

I am glad you've remembered. Thank you for accepting the memory charm.

Is there anything I can do for you right now?

No, you smell disgusting. [So straightforward.

But then, he staggers again. His eyes are back to normal again. And he's all at once exhausted.] Fuck, I hate that. [He takes a few deep breaths and steadies himself.] Ignore anything I just said. That wasn't me. Well. The real me. It's complicated to explain.

[ He doesn't resent the statement; he already knows his blood is unpalatable. He just narrows his gaze at the sudden un-Sam-like outburst. ]

Do you believe you pose a danger to anybody?

[He considers a moment.] No. I'm okay. I'm not that hungry.

Thank you. [Notices he looks annoyed.] I-I'm sorry about whatever may have just happened. When there's a trauma, sometimes the instincts of a vampire take over to ensure the individual's survival. It takes a lot sometimes to regain rationality. [He still carried the extra few years, but he was definitely more similar to the person he had been before all of this than the person he'd been briefly.]

[ Sam must be stronger than he seems, then. Golbez is impressed. ]

Very well, then. If you need anything, I'll be working at the theatre down the street for the next several hours. Please do not hesitate to come find me.

[He nods, and gives a tired smile.] Thank you, for everything. I think I'm going to cut out early. Despite the mess. Go back to my office and relax.

That's not a bad idea. You should rest.

[ He nods and turns to go. ]

[And runs into another vampire, a much littler one.] Hello Golbez! [He gets a hug, because why not, before Kotaro runs over to Sam to give him a big hug as well.] I got you a memory!

[Looks down at Kotaro and smiles a fangy grin. He's too tired to be self-conscious.] Hey there. Thank you, Kotaro.

[ He's taken aback by Kotaro's entrance, but he stops and remains where he is when he hears what the boy has to say. He may as well make sure nothing goes wrong with this one, too. ]

Your welcome Sam! [He handed him the bag] You got to put it on!

[Sam glanced between the giver and gift briefly before he accepted it.] I suppose I should, huh? But I've got some good news first. [He sits on the floor, not really trying to show how tired he is, and beckons Kotaro over to sit with him, or on him, however the kid sees fit.]

Golbez just gave me a memory charm, too. I remember I'm a vampire now. I want to thank both of you for helping me out like this. I don't want to think about what could have happened without both of you. [Nope, his voice isn't cracking, no way. He also might be trying to cuddle up with a chibi vampire]

[ Golbez stands there, leaning against the doorframe, and watches the two. ]

It was nothing at all, Samuel. I'm simply glad it was helpful to you.

[On him, Kotaro sits on his lap, he welcomes the cuddles. He grinned widely when he heard the news.] You did! That's great! I'm glad you remembered! [He grinned at Golbez again.] Thank you Golbez, you are a really nice friend! [He'd hug you again but Sam needs the hugs more.]

[He likes having somebody to hug like this it makes him feel better.] I was being a stubborn idiot about it, and I should have just accepted the charms I was given sooner. I'm sorry.

But I'm really glad to have both of you for friends. You're both better to me than I deserve. [He might be tearing up a bit. Just a bit. He's hiding his face behind Kotaro's shoulder and his own bangs.]

[ This is definitely awkward. How is Golbez supposed to react to comments like that, especially when the older of the two vampires is starting to cry a bit? It's been nearly forty years since he had anyone he could call a "friend".

In the end, he just remains silent. ]

No we're not, you deserve the best friends silly! [He hugs tightly but then lets go, just to go over to grab Golbez's hand.] You're our friend and so you have to hug too! [Dragging him over to hug Sam]

[Waves a hand] No, Kotaro. You don't have to make him do that. [He wipes his face off and stands up again.] I'm sorry. This has been an exhausting few weeks. [He pulled the tie out of his hair and busied himself with retying it again.]

Er.

[ He is dragged a couple of steps before he manages to extricate his hand from Kotaro's grip. ]

I do appreciate the sentiment, Kotaro. Thank you. And you've nothing to apologize for, Samuel. This city has certainly done a number on you.

[Kotaro's face fell. He blinked at Golbez, the saddest little baby vampire Golbez ever did see. But Sam had told him to stop so he put his hands behind his back.] Sorry Golbez...

[Glancing at Sam to make sure he wasn't mad.]

[He reaches down and ruffles Kotaro's hair.] Thanks, buddy. [He pulled him in for another hug.

He looked over to Golbez and just gave him a smile.]

[ Well if this isn't just the most awkward thing. ]

I should be going. I've a job to get to shortly.

[Kotaro hugged Sam back happily and blinked at Golbez wondering if he was still upset.] Where do you work?
