[ He really doesn't want to do this. But if he doesn't, he knows it's not his head it will be on. There's really nothing he can do, and it will happen anyway -- all Golbez is doing is acting as a mouthpiece.

At 8AM on Thursday, the announcement happens. ]

Somebody in Rakuen has fallen below zero raks. The penalty will now commence.


[ The first victim is Sis Strider. From there, once every hour a different person will be selected for a five-minute warning penalty until America has zero or more raks. In order, the following victims include Dave Strider at 9AM, John Peixes at 10AM, Nunnally vi Britannia at 11AM, Jade Harley at noon, Dirk Strider at 1PM, Jake English at 2PM, and Bubblecup at 3PM.

As each victim is affected, they will appear on the Exaclan viewing screens and on computers connected to the network. Feel free to thread that out here, or in a new post if you would prefer.

There is no IC indication of who the culprit is unless he confesses to it himself. ]

[ Unlike the others, when it happens, she screams. And in the middle of the cafeteria, it's not likely that anyone in Fortitude is going to miss it.

It's like all her worst nightmares -- pain, black at the edge of her vision, just like dying she thinks, but worse because at least when she disappeared it didn't take long. The plate she was holding in her hands falls to the ground with a crash as she attempts to curl into a ball to wait it out. Tears leak down her face as she screams, something incoherent because she can't make real words right now.

Somewhere, about three minutes in, she falls to the ground, unable to stand. ]

[That's the sound of a tray either being knocked over or dropped.

Dave is already rushing to her side and she probably feels Dave's arms wrap around her gently, pulling her close. He doesn't seem to mind that they're on the floor, but just keeps her close, waiting for it to finally end before he tries doing anything else.]

[greenspaces]

[ It feels like forever but really, it's only a few more minutes until the pain subsides, leaving Jade with a throbbing in her head and sniffling, attempting to stop the small train of tears. She didn't even notice that it was Dave that pulled her close until the pain went away and she opened her eyes. They were sitting in a pile of peas, but he didn't even seem to care.

Words still aren't working, so she makes some sort of apologetic mumble half-sniffle and wipes her cheeks. She doesn't actually like crying. ]

[knightime]

[Oh no. He doesn't want her to apologize. It's not her fault even! It's whoever hit the negatives and it's not like she cared about saving face as obsessively as he did.

He wants to show her it's okay. But it's probably stupid to try signing and he can't talk, so he has to do something more physical. Ugh, sometimes not being able to talk makes this so hard.

Also, he is scrambling for a thought, and he kind of just does whatever first comes to mind and places a kiss against one of her tear stained cheeks.

His brain will catch up in like five and it'll be so embarrassing.]

S-sorry. I'm not very good at being cool.

[ She doesn't even seem to notice it until about...well, five seconds after the tears have stopped. Her head still feels like it's on fire, but Jade's eyes are wide as she takes everything in. ]

Did you just kiss me?

[ THIS IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE WARNING PENALTY. ]

[Oh.

Oh. Oh oh oh. Oh shit. He really did just kiss her didn't he? Fuck. Oh shit. What does he say? Do? Oh man, his face must be the most embarrassing shade of red. Oh my god.

So he just sits there with her. Face burning red and looking like the most embarrassed thirteen year-old. Oh man. He probably is anyways.]

[ EMBARRASSED DUO OF THIRTEEN YEAR OLDS GO. WOO. ]

[He covers his face. Oh my god.

He just fucked everything up. This is so stupid. He starts trying to sign, but really, it looks like a garbled mess of letters trying to spell sorry.]

[ Shhhhh shh. Her head still hurts like crazy, but she carefully places her hands over his own, a silent signal that he doesn't have to apologize.

Jade leans against him, breathing deep and waiting for the headache to subside. ]

[knightime]

[He stops trying to sign. Instead, he just wraps his arms around her tightly, staying completely silent other than his breathing.

He's supposed to be comforting you, not the other way around!]

[greenspaces]

[ Somehow, that's the way it always works with Jade.

Finally, she pulls away from him when she's feeling better. She makes the sign for 'I love you' and holds it out to him. ]

[knightime]

[Ack. That's so forward! He just kissed you and you sign that to him.

But he signs it back to her anyways. Because he wants to make sure she knows that he returns the sentiment.]

[greenspaces]

[ SHE DOESN'T REALIZE THAT ]

I'm glad you're okay.

[ Who was the one that had the penalty right now again? ]

[knightime]

'Jade, I think you're forgetting the fact you were the one with the penalty. I was the one who kissed you on the cheek like an idiot."

[What the heck, Jade.]

But you aren't an idiot. I kind of liked it.

[knightime]

[Dave opens his mouth to just say a silent 'oh.' ...Oh. Well...

His face is an unbelievable shade of red. Holy shit.]

[greenspaces]

[ That face-- Jade breaks into giggles. ] What's that for?

[knightime]

'It's obviously a ploy to get you to laugh. See? it totally worked. Victory. I shall relish in my spoils.'

[He's so lying out of his ass.]

[greenspaces]

[ She can't stooooooop ]

That's not fair, I giggle too much!

[knightime]

'It's not my fault that you love to laugh. It just makes it easier for me to gain victory.'

[He pokes her sides lightly.</small.]

[ NOOOOOOOOOOO HER WEAKNESS MORE GIGGLES ]

[He kind of laughs while he tickles her some more. See, things aren't so bad now! Even if they're covered in the food of her dropped tray.]

[ And Jade don't even care. ]
