Round 9: Conquest
To those who had been in Rakuen a while it was a normal Sunday, the screens telling them to report to the foyer for assembly at 12, Santana making sure that no one got lost or tried to skip.
For those who were new it might seem strange, the angry looking woman on stage surrounded by students in Berets. Flynn, Feferi, Kevin, Suzaku, Golbez and Gino; the prefects of Conquest were joined by Santana when she finished dragging stragglers in.
Day stepped forward and everyone in the audience would experiance a sharp pain. It only lasted a second though and she sighed looking... not angry. But disappointed.
It was potentially more dangerous.
"I know you are better than this. You are either not trying, or this is some form of rebellion but it will stop."
She shook her head, "Some of you," America would be getting a headache as she spoke, "Didn't even fight before the deadline. You barely fought with Fortitude at all. It will change this round."
The Battle Records appeared on the screen behind her. "For Conquest fights, Cirno and Lemina Ausa, Cirno won." Lemina was hit by a penalty, hard enough to make her stagger. "Feferi Peixes and Samuel Henderson, Feferi won." Samuel was hit, "America and Lemina Ausa, America won." Lemina was hit once more.
"Against Fortitude you were pathetic, Lemina lost to Dave," Lemina was hit once again, and to Jake, and she drew with Jade." Just a twinge of pain for that last result, a draw was better than a loss after all.
"But." She glared at them, "At least Lemina actually fought against Fortitude," all the Players but Lemina were hit this time and the battle records faded.
"You better get your acts together, for this next round is our first tournament. A chance to prove your worth and I hope that you do not let me, or Conquest down."
She smirked at them, "Conquest have been chosen to fight first on Monday, which means even if you lose your match you will have to fight again by Thursday or you will be fined. Those that win will fight in the quarter finals, you may use two Weapons for your first fight, chose wisely. Fights outside the tournament are also encouraged, for practice and to gather the Weapons most likely to help you win.
And you better win."
The list of Players came up on the screen, but this time they were in pairs, the list of the first fights. Day read out the names.
"Nunnally vi Britannia vs Stellaluna
Kotaro Mochizuki vs Samuel Henderson
Jadesprite vs Duzell
Sis Strider vs Arthur Pendragon."

[Yeah, he sees you, but he’s not waving back. He’ll just look for a few more seconds and then turn away to something moderately more interesting.]

Which he didn't, but he skips over anyways. His formal bow was ruined when he tripped over his own feet but he grinned, showing fangs and continued.] It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance... [His name was meant to go there but Kotaro didn't know that so continued.] I am Kotaro Mochizuki of Sage Eve's bloodline, brother to the silver blade, hero of Hong Kong! [He didn't even try remembering his brothers name, it was gone until he bought the right charm.]
Um... I guess you are great... I mean you are great... and um... I'm only ten and little and um... may both our hearts beat strongly for many years

He just gave the kid a good long stare to try and intimidate him enough to go away. He might be an ass, but he didn’t plan to pick up and toss the kid away unless he did something to really piss him off.]
Sage Eve bloodline? [He repeats, a little more than intrigued at the knowledge that there were apparently other vampires in this place. He thought the others were all weak humans. Now things are a little more interesting. Duzell, being the way he is, chooses to feign nonchalance.] Never heard of it.
So you’re a vampire? [As if that wasn’t obvious by the fangs.] Don’t guess; know. [He straightens up just then, looking refined and noble and most importantly, a vampire of power and great status.] I am Vampire King Duzell.
[He smirks.] You haven’t even lived yet, kid. I really don’t care what your lineage is. It doesn’t mean shit here.

Since Sam had never even heard of Kowloon children, which every Black Blood where Kotaro cam from knew and feared Kotaro understood that not everyone came from the same place.
Still his eyes flickered nervously when he said that he was the Vampire King, Vampire's didn't have a king, they had the Lord Dragon and the Princess of the North but no King, only the Kowloon King...
But he was dead, lots of years ago!
Also this Vampire King was rude Kotaro had tried so hard to greet him properly and politely as well!] I know, I said didn't I, I'm only ten! I was really polite as well so you shouldn't be rude!

If you’re looking for politeness, you’d better keep searching. The humans care more about that crap. Vampires shouldn’t bother.
[Still, he spoke out against him. That took guts.]
You have fire, kid. Keep it up. Maybe you’ll get stronger when you’re older.

Maybe that’s how things go where you live, kid. It doesn’t mean that happens everywhere else.
[Hmm, this is a little intriguing. Duzell casually looks down at his hand and flexes his claws.] Your brother’s a strong vampire?

And he’s here? [Might be someone actually worthy of his time, unlike the humans.] So he’s the hero type. Hmph.
