Summary: Kamui needs to feed and Ishtar is kind enough to help out.

[Lingering in his usual tree with one leg dangling out in the open air, Kamui is resting his head against the tree trunk with his eyes closed. What sets this apart from any other day, however, is the fact that his already pale skin is now sickly so. He also seems to be in a minute amount of pain, if the way his hands are clenched into fists is any indication.

Going so long without blood has begun to take a toll on him, he notes absently. Probably because he was so focused on trying to get back this important memory he's lost as well as keep a low profile. Still, when his body craves blood, there's not much he can do to suppress it. He'll just have to wait a few more hours until nightfall to begin stalking a victim...]

[ The young princess happened to be in the courtyard trying clear her mind. It had been a couple of weeks since she had been here if she recalled correctly. It might have been less. Either way she trying to straighten out her thoughts. There were so many questions that lingered in the back of her mind. What was her role at home, and what was it called? Why was she with Duzell? There had to be a good reason for her to have been friends with a pretty dangerous vampire.

She runs a hand through her hair as she stalked quietly on the walkaway looking at the trees quietly. Her eyes immediately caught the sight of someone in the tree. It wasn't hard to see people in trees unless they blended well with it. She blinked. ]

[Weak as he is, it doesn't take long for Kamui to notice there is a gaze upon him. Slowly opening his eyes and forcing away the sharp yellow in his irises back to their normal blue, he then glances down at Ishtar blankly.]

What do you want? [His words, though rude in nature, are decidedly non-hostile in terms of tone.]

[ For some reason she couldn't help but thing the person looked a little too pale for a normal human being. It seemed like they were ill. She just tilted her head slightly before responding to his question. ]

Didn't think anyone would be here right now...is all.

[ She mused. She was surprised to see another person here in a tree no less. ]

Hey...it might sound weird coming from me, but are you okay?

[For a moment, Kamui hesitates in answering. Just because they were partners once does not mean he has to answer her now. Their vow is broken, replaced with his new one to a bat.

After a second's thought, he decides there can be no harm in answering honestly. It's not as if there's anything she can do about it, after all.]

I'm hungry.

[ She didn't really want to do it but what choice did she have? Ishtar was grateful for his help even if it was for a little while. She would express that honestly with him. She wasn't the kind of person that would take control of other people. It didn't seem right.

She waited quietly for his answer, her eyes fixed on him out of concern. ]

Hungry?

[ Well when people say that shouldn't they go eat? Somehow she was wonderinf if he meant something by that. ] Maybe we should get you some food?

I'm waiting until night.

Can't you just go the the store or-- why nighttime?

[ Forgive her she hasn't quite put two and two together yet. ] Is there any way I can help you?

[ Seeing he had helped her during the tournament...even though she failed miserably. ]

[For a moment, Kamui regards her with an unreadable expression on his face. If his demeanor could be likened to something, it would be like someone trying to find something to watch on TV. There's nothing serious at stake and one option is as good as the other, all of it equally bad.

The problem here is that he could just explain it to her, but then he's already had to deal with people who insist on getting in his way. The other alternative is to take her up on her offer... and just kill her. Still, ever since that first incident with Spain, he's been hesitant about randomly attacking people for food again. That's why he's gone for so long without feeding.

Finally, he decides to go with the first option. Like he concluded before, what's the worst she can do?]

There are less humans around then. It's easier to find a lone target.

[ Ishtar doesn't say anything other than looking at him with a a worried expression as always. She knew he had problems like Duzell so she can't really tell him he couldn't find food. It was in their best interest to before they end up just attacking someone on a more vicious level.

She didn't expect him to answer her. She was just asking because she was concerned. They might be strangers but the least she could do was return the favour as a thanks for him. ]

You know if you ask people might be willing to offer you help instead of taking the effort to attack someone for food..

[Kamui scoffs at the suggestion. Not verbally, but it's in the way his eyebrow arches at her.]

Do you think asking someone to die for me will work? [There's a bite of sarcasm in his words, he already knows the answer to that. He just can't believe she even suggested a thing. Of course no one would voluntarily die for a stranger.]

[ Ishtar didn't know that feeding was going to kill someone. She was used to hearing them take blood and letting them live....can't he do that, she wondered quietly. ]

They don't have to necessarily die....you know?

[ but what did she know about vampires outside of her own world. They all worked differently, she assumed. No of course not but she could still offer something that would still keep her alive. ]

Maybe you can take enough to replenish your strength and let the person be a little dizzy for a few days or something...

[For a moment, Kamui seems a little dumbstruck as he regards her with widened eyes. He doesn't have to kill someone while feeding? Of course, that seems so obvious. Why didn't he think of that bef-?

Oops, his eyes haze over with that terribly familiar blankness of a memory suddenly stolen. It lasts only a short moment and when his eyes clear again, his brow instantly furrows with frustration. He had something important, he was sure of it, but he cannot remember what.]

... what did you say? [He finally asks Ishtar, his struggles to remember yielding little.]

[ Ishtar looked at him with a quizzical look on her face. She wasn't sure what he was thinking about or why his eyes suddenly hazed over. Didn't it seem obvious though? Why did he seemed quiet about it. She had always thought that vampires could drain all the blood they want and kill someone or they can keep them around like a convenient blood bank. Not that she approved of it but it seemed better than killing someone.

She blinked again as he spoke to her in question. ]

What? I mean I thought vampires could take enough blood from people and still leave them alive. It happens quite a lot back--

[ Ishtar stopped a moment because she was saying something about her world but then again not everything worked the way they did in her world. Did it not occur to him that he didn't have to kill people to have blood. She was a little confused herself. ] It was a suggestion.....

[unbridledfangs]

[In no time at all, his eyes go dull again as the realization is swept from his mind. When he realizes it's happened once more, his teeth grit in frustration and he can't resist the urge to let out an angry hiss. She's telling him something important, he knows this. He just can't hold onto it because of this damnable world.]

Whatever you're suggesting is taken from me. [The rage in his usually even voice is tangible.]

[ The girl didn't take any steps closer to the boy but she certainly was concerned with his well being seeing he didn't look well first off, and second he was hissing. She wondered if she said something wrong. ]

You mean...like the memories?

[ She mused quietly and her voice seemed quite uncertain when she asked that question. \
