So I've taken it upon myself to be the one to make this post out of our little entourage. Taking dead things into the tower is not a terribly bright idea. You don't get them back.

They were flat-out hentai tentacles made of shadows or some shit. Appeared out of nowhere, flailed around and wrapped themselves around me -- my other self -- and dragged it down out of sight like the floor wasn't a thing.

And after that? Did the shadows appear again?

Just once. Pip fell off Jade's shoulder, and one showed up to pluck her outta the air and set her down all nice and gentle-like.

Did it have a type of personality?

Didn't exactly communicate with-- [ Pause. ] Well, it did flash a victory sign at us after it put Pip down. Beyond that all I can do is speculate, and given my sad lack of information I doubt those speculations would wind up anywhere close to fact.

Jesus, I've told you as much as I can without straight up telling you because I can't straight up tell you. There are rules I need to follow.

Are we getting us a zombie dungeon with an undead, corpse-animating boss at the end? It'd be a nice change of pace from this dull as shit battle harem game, but I better not be in there as a zombie.

Mummies, then? Vampires. Some other sort of undead? I swear to fucking god, if I guess right and you shrug it off because of some technicality in wording...

If that is the case, at least no one's gonna be stupid enough to repeat the stunt he pulled. So it's not like there can be any other sacrifices... Right? ]

We don't know the nature of the reanimation process. My comatose waking self should be all right because it doesn't have its own consciousness either way, but whatever happened to it isn't something I'd wish to inflict on someone without knowing for sure whether they'll actually experience anything.
