Characters: Yuri and you![Deep into the tree line and well out of sight of the main path, there's a little clearing with an ornamental fountain situated right in the middle of it. Next to the fountain is Yuri, doing a sword pattern. As the blade arcs through the air in a downwards, horizontal slash, the sword is suddenly released from his fingers and continues its circular path as Yuri twirls through the air, bringing the back of his heel in a devastating spin kick across the air where an imagined opponent would stand. As the blade comes full circle, he's suddenly seizing the still spinning hilt with his other hand and repeating the motion again, completing the circuit three more times. To some, it might appear as elegant and graceful as a dance.
Format: action
This log is: open
Location: Woodlands.
Summary: Yuri feels he's been slacking lately and decides to get some practice in.
Warnings: tba
To others? It's needlessly flamboyant. (Yet strangely effective.)
As the pattern comes to an end, Yuri lands back on his feet with the sword balanced easily across his shoulders looking none the worse for wear. The slight frown on his face, however is a little strange.]
Timing's off... I must be out of shape.

Not to mention that it was a guy. She was used to seeing guys with long hair to not mistaken them for girls. Some would probably take offense to that but seeing he was busy she didn't say anything but watched from behind a nearby tree with awe. This place was so strange. ]

Fortunately, he now has a replacement who does that... not quite so subtly for him. Lambert, after all, wasn't exactly trained as a war dog like his namessake was and therefore doesn't understand subtlety. Hidden in the bushes where Yuri left a large bone at the start of his training to keep his tiny companion out of the way, the tiny puppy comes rushing out, yipping around the bone in his teeth that is... much too large for him to carry easily and goes running straight at Ishtar.
It's the happy kind of barking, though. The kind a happy dog gives when they meet a new face and they're excited.
Yuri, appropriately startled, watches Lambert go and- well hello stranger.]
Incoming.

The girl just gave a wide eyed stare when the guy said that to her, already prepared to either be bitten or tackled down. She never had a dog so she wouldn't know how to act around one or even how to avoid it. Well that's a great way to start a day. ]
Eh??!
[ Probably too late to move. ]

Yuri, on the other hand, is content to take a seat on the fountain and pop open a water bottle he left there on the ledge and take a drink. Lambert's harmless and he's seen Ishtar around campus, at least enough to not suspect her of any foul play.
Congratulations, Ishtar, you have a white fluff ball at your ankles giving you muted yips and wagging its tail off, seeking petting.]
Relax, he won't bite. [Siiip] ... probably.
[He be trolling.]

She wouldn't hurt animals. She's got a cat herself. She loved animals and because he was at her ankle now, she did do what the little fluff ball wanted. She petted him softly. ]
Aren't you a sweetie?
[ She laughed a bit getting over her slight shock of being launched at. She looked over at the guy with a brow raised. ]
....Well I'm probably used to getting animal bites by now.....

Yuri, on the other hand, feigns exasperation at Lambert's happiness in front of a complete stranger, but there's a quirk to his lip that says otherwise.]
What, not even a little bit of screaming? I must be losing my touch.
no subject
She turned to look at him. ]
I got used to being jumped on by random animals, I guess?
[ She rubbed the back of her head sheepishly. ] He's too cute to be screaming at though.

[He could see how much skill Yuri possessed, his form was different than Arthur's but he could not doubt the effectiveness it must possess.]
Your timing may be off but your form is good.
no subject
It'd be better if my timing was right, but hey. [And here a wry smile curls his lips.] Thanks for the compliment.
no subject
Timing can be worked on, form is much harder to learn. Once your instincts are sharp everything else can be trained to match.
[Suddenly he really misses his knights]
Where did you acquire your sword?
no subject
Recette's shop. If you've got the coin, she'll give you back the stuff they took when you arrived. [Well technically they didn't "take" it, sotospeak, but Yuri chooses not to sweat the minor details.]

the jerk.][He nods thoughtfully]
A shop rather than a blacksmith?
no subject
So, really, what's the difference between a shop keeper and a blacksmith? If you ask him, the latter's actually more convenient.]
