Gifts and things [Active/Open]
Characters: Dirk Strider, open to anyone
Format: Whatever you prefer
This log is: open
Location: Around Rakuen
Warnings: Strider language
After shenanigans at Recette's shop, Dirk has some deliveries to make -- memory charms for Dave and Sis, and memory charms plus upgrades and those Prospit dreaming pendants for Jake and Jane.
Aw man, and movie night is tonight also... He's gonna be busy today.
Throughout the day, he can be found around Fortitude and Rakuen, and lurking about outside the borders of Conquest.
((OOC: A separate, mingling-type log will go up later in the week for the movie night thing. Keep an eye out! ))

[So what did this idle king decide to do? Patrol the grounds around Conquest, as if Conquest were his new kingdom. Which is kind of is, even if he doesn't want to admit it (or admit that he technically has no power here whatsoever). Around the grounds is where he runs into Dirk.]
Halt, what is your business here?
no subject
Came to deliver a present to one of your teachers, that's all.
no subject
[And really he has no reason to stop Dirk but he had read the rules and he knew that Dirk wasn't in Conquest so technically he isn't allowed inside the walls of Conquest. This could be war-starting, you know.]
You're not of Conquest and therefore not allowed inside its walls.
[Arthur, sweetie, stop acting like a Prefect, you just got here.]
no subject
If you're supposed to be a prefect you forgot your fancy beret.
no subject
What is a beret?
no subject
Look, I just want to deliver a memory charm to a friend of mine.
no subject
Forgive me, I don't know what Slytherin is nor was I aware that any type of point system was in play here? Does it have to do with winning battles?
[He sighs, look, Arthur knows that he has no authority here but he needs to do something.]
I am aware that I hold no authority in this kingdom, but it seems as if no one is enforcing the rules.
no subject
That could have something to do with how the rules in play are bullshit constructs set up to pit friends and family against one another for the amusement of whatever puppetmaster has his hand up this city's giant plush ass.
no subject
Rules are in place for a reason, sometimes they may seem unfair or unjust or without reason, but I would assure you that there is a reason, most likely for the good of all people.
[Arthur, are you talking about Rakuen or Camelot now?]
no subject
Okay. So what rationale do you think there is behind keeping a harmless kid from helping restore a friend's lost memories?
no subject
[Which is totally why Arthur can't remember the name of any other kingdom besides Camelot, or any of the Kings besides himself and Uther]
no subject

[Arthur, put your king voice away]
no subject
[ Or Dirk could use his PDA. But he'd rather fuck with Arthur. ]
no subject
I am no messenger!

So I can't come onto the campus to see her and you're not gonna let us meet off campus either? Not exactly leaving me with a whole lot of options, bro.

[Seriously.]
[You keep pretending your title means something here Arthur, I know it makes you feel better.]
no subject
I'm not a man. I'm a fifteen-year-old boy. I happen to be a prince, myself, but I guess that doesn't matter to you. [ This is a flat-out lie since it's only a title. But he is okay with flat-out lying. ] I wonder what your schoolmates would think knowing that you're keeping a valuable memory away from Sis?
no subject
A Prince? Of where? [He won't recognize the name even if it was from his world, oh well]
Can't you... use that small magic box of yours?
no subject
Magic box? Afraid I don't know what you're talking about. No such thing as magic where I come from.
no subject
[he pinches the bridge of his noise] It's science here, isn't it? The box that allows you to communicate with others far away?
no subject
The box? Maybe. But in-person communication has a je ne sais quoi that electronic missives just lack. Wouldn't you say?
no subject
[IT IS NOT OFTEN THAT ARTHUR PENDRAGON HAS NO IDEA WHAT IT GOING ON IN A CONVERSATION]
And Princes. [of course, why not]
Pardon?
