After shenanigans at Recette's shop, Dirk has some deliveries to make -- memory charms for Dave and Sis, and memory charms plus upgrades and those Prospit dreaming pendants for Jake and Jane.

Aw man, and movie night is tonight also... He's gonna be busy today.

Throughout the day, he can be found around Fortitude and Rakuen, and lurking about outside the borders of Conquest.

He died before I was born. [ There's not really any emotion in how he says it. It's just how things have always been. ] I don't begrudge him for it, but it's still accurate to say that you're a hell of a better guardian than he was.

[Everything she had done was for Dave's sake though.] But not meeting your guardian could seem troublesome.

It had a few problems, but I got along pretty well. Admittedly, thanks to the shit he left behind. But Dave had you around to train him and do stuff like sign at him.

[Sis feels bad for disappearing sometimes, alright?]

I wouldn't mind doing the same for you. Though I'm not sure you would really take back anything?

[ He's quiet for a moment, surprised by the gesture. ]

It's true that we don't know if we'll retain our memories of Rakuen once we return home, but -- what do you mean?

You need someone like that in your life. I heard it's good for mental stabilization or something. Tell anyone I read parenting books, and I'll send you flying across the Fortitude borders.

[ That's... definitely a thing Sis just said. Dirk doesn't know what to think of it. ]

I mean, I didn't have my bro around, but it's not like I was completely without a guardian. I had Lil Cal. [ Dirk, your life is hilariously tragic. ] You don't need to do anything.

Lil Cal isn't teaching you what I could be teaching you.

[Okay so Dirk is good at fighting already, and moving really fast....she's forgotten flashstepping okay.]

...could be going better. [ Shrug. ] There are some strong people here, and I haven't been able to flash-step since I arrived.

[She nods.]

...okay. Sure, why not? [ He can always stand to get better. ]

[Remember that first fight Dirk and Sis got into? WHO WON THAT? Also her foot might be flying towards Dirk's face, he should do something about that.]

[ Okay, he should have been prepared for that.

[Sis is laughing this time, that wasn't even full force.

She'll offer her hand to him.]

Lesson one, be prepared for an attack.

[ He takes her hand and pulls himself up.

Yeah, yeah. He's usually prepared, but he let himself get complacent talking to Sis. He won't make excuses; he'll just do better next time. ]

[Never become complacent when you're talking to Sis. She springs attacks in the most random times and the most random places.

She does quirk a smile at that however.]

[ He steps backward slightly, bracing himself in a defensive stance. ]

[She swoops down, trying to kick his feet out from under him.]

Lesson two, never be on just offense or just defense.

He jumps over her kick, kicking one of his feet out at her stomach in the process. ]
