Summary: Week Ten: The King of poisons

[Before Class] The week before at the end of class students were handed an instruction sheet and orders to practice making the poison written on it. Anyone who arrived in Round ten and were students were approached by Day earlier in the week and given the same instructions. Regardless of whether you have been in the city ten weeks or one today is the final test of the first part of the Poisons class.

Day set up the room, individual desks with all the herbs and equiptment they needed, and some that they did not. When students arrived they are instructed to find a desk and prepare for the test. Instruction sheets are to be handed to Day who is at the front of the class to answer any questions.

[The test] Once everyone was ready Day began, "In my world when a student is ready to finish their apprenticeship they are instructed on making the greatest poison of all. A deadly poison, one that tastes, smells and looks just like water... They are told no one is immune to it, not even the great master poisoners."

She looked bitter for a moment, "This poison that looks, smells and tastes just like water is indeed... just water." She looked around the room, "A trick, one to keep apprentices in line. The only poison that could possibly kill their master, and if they turned on their teacher they would learn their lesson harshly."

The fact that Day knows this, and the fact her eyes are glowing with anger probably show that she was one of those unlucky apprentices.

"However I'm not going to trick you, obviously." As she had just told them it is a trick, "But the King of Poisons is the most complicated potion I know, you have all studied it and you will make it. Perfectly. If you do it right, no harm will come to you when you drink it at the end..."

She looked at them sternly, "If you fail, since it is your first time I will give you an antidote... though unfortunately I may not be able to tell exactly what it is you have made so please try and remember exactly what you do so I can give you the correct antidote..."

It didn't really matter if they died as they would just wake up again, but Dunleavy and Dolorosa would frown on her for killing too many students. "Those who do not poison themselves will recieve a pass mark and five raks. Please begin, if you have any questions ask them now."

[Judgement time] Day summoned each student to her desk, for them to drink the potion and for her to mark them.

[Ending] After class Day tidies everything away, if anyone wishes to talk to her.

[Cirno had actually been reading the sheet over and over again when she had a moment. She wanted to pass. Although she never completely paid any attention until it seemed like it was probably too late. She was probably one of the last ones in the room, trying to remember the paper's instructions. She passes the paper to Day with a nervous smile on her face and then headed to the desk closest to the back. She listens to the final bit and then gets started. She frowned as she struggled to remember the instructions. She did what she could remember, even the foggiest stuff and then waited. She felt for sure she has messed up somewhere...But where, She had no idea. She closed her eyes, just hoping that maybe she got things right.]

"Cirno," Day called her name and gestured her to the desk. "Are you ready?"

She admired Cirno's spirit, especially since she had started putting the effort in.

[Cirno hesitated for a moment before making her way up to Day.]

Ta be honest? No...Not ready...But I guess that doesn't matter huh?

[She smiles slightly sadly. She was planning on paying more attention this time around in class. After a moment, she drinks the potion, eyes shut tightly, waiting to see what was to happen.]

No it doesn't. [She smiles though to take the sting out of her words] Good luck Cirno

[She watches, hoping that Cirno succeeded.]

[She opens her eyes and waits for for the effects hitting her. She stood there for a moment or two with nothing happening. A slow look of shock crosses her face, Did she actually do it right by luck? She looked to Day with a pure look of surprise. She did it...right?]

[Day raised an eyebrow, she had not been expecting Cirno to succeed. She was impressed.]

Well done Cirno. You listened well. [She places five raks on Cirno's desk.]
