Characters: Jake, Jane, and DirkIt was too strange to call it all a dream. Usually when you wake up from a dream, you're fighting to remember the lucid details before they slip right through your fingers. No, this was kind of the opposite. As soon as Jake opened his eyes and blearily found himself awake and aware he was slammed with what he could only liken to gaining a memory charm.

Only this seemed so much more than just one silly memory. It was a great number of things accompanied by a growing headache that made him nearly cry out with pain.
He needed to stop collecting head injuries. Jade was going to have his hide.
Looking back, he probably should have paused to take some notes before even these details slipped beyond his memory, but he was far too distracted by one huge glaring problem pounding in the back of his mind. Jane.
Jane was run through by a bunch of sinister red sentient vines. Jane was laying dead on the ground before he was dragged off again. He needed to make sure she was all right here, he needed to get the freaking heck out of bed. What the hell was brobot doing here? Nevermind he had to find Jane ASAP. At least he could just keep repeating to himself that she was okay here, and he could try and stave back the fact that he was in tears back home. Fuck. Fuck.
He made a wild dash out of the infirmary, paused to gain his bearings, and then ran for the dorms.
Of course he was terribly confused when he found out she was no longer in the room she was supposed to be in, and instead was directed towards the prefect dorms. What? Okay maybe she was in their room. Right, that's a perfectly rational deduction, okay. Good. Go.
He practically tore the door off the hinges when he made it to his room.
...

"Roxy isn't safe." Jane finally releases that from her thoughts. "After all of this time together here. We've forgotten Roxy! She is in danger just as much as we are."
