Not wanting to fight

Suzaku Kururugi vs. Tsuki Aoi

Weapons: Lelouch vi Britannia and Sora Himoto
Location: Courtyard
Time of day: Morning

If anything Suzaku was feeling even more worried about this battle than he had about his last. After all that one had gone so wrong, even though he had won, Kotarou was still not conscious. He had been worried about hurting Oichi, since he had no real reason to be fighting her; they were on the same side. But he had never guessed that a person who was a Weapon could be hurt that badly.

He didn't want to fight again, but he had to; he could see no other way they had to fight to gain token to win back their memories and find out what on earth was going on and get out of this world. But he didn't want anyone to get hurt. He had promised to protect the people who were his Weapons and this... this was far from protecting them, using them in battles that could hurt them so badly they were unconscious for days.

He was to fight Tsuki and she was using Sora's weapon and he was using Lelouch's, one of his friends were going to get hurt, he couldn't protect them, just like he hadn't been able to help Kotarou.

But there was no other way, "You sure you will be alright?" He asked Lelouch for what was bound to be the hundredth time since they had agreed to this battle.

Tsuki was no stranger to this system of battle, its rules or its consequences. She rarely participated in it herself, but she was all too aware of how it worked. While had no desire to face Suzaku, she wouldn't hesitate to do so. She had to admit it was ironic that she would be wielding Sora though, rather than the other way around. Even though Sora had no way of knowing it, their positions were usually reversed in this sort of arrangement.

Still, she would do her best to win. Victory was what mattered here, nothing else.

"You've done this more often than I have, Sora," she noted, turning to her old friend. "Do you have any tips?" she asked, noting with some amusement that once again... it was usually Sora asking her for advice, not the other way around.

Sora glanced over at the pair of boys, then hmmed and hahed for a moment. She didn't want to see Suzaku or Lelouch hurt, but her need to keep Tsuki safe trumped that several times over. She reviewed what she knew.

"Suzaku's fast," she said, "and he doesn't just use the sword when he attacks." She remembered watching his battle against the dark-haired woman, Oichi, and his kicks. "My sword can block well. Use it, and don't worry about hurting me. Suzaku... forgets to dodge, sometimes. I don't know why, but maybe you could attack him then."

It sounded, all in all, like Sora had at least learned something over the past week and a half, even if it wasn't maths.

Tsuki just quietly listened and nodded. Sora's intelligence was questionable, but she undoubtedly knew what she was talking about in this regard. Tsuki was no slouch physically herself, though some part of her wished she had a mask to wear for this confrontation.

"I'll end this as quickly as I can," Tsuki said coldly. The words perhaps sounded arrogant, but in truth she simply knew that as Sora said... she couldn't win this confrontation while worrying about hurting Sora through damage to her weapon. The only thing she could do was minimize the damage by going all out and making this battle as short as possible.

"Are you ready?" she asked, as she slipped on her glove.

Sora, for her part, had every faith in Tsuki. Always had, always would. And if there was a problem, she wouldn't hesitate to jump in, though she was keeping that a secret from the other girl. Tsuki would only call her stupid and forbid it, and she didn't want that before she had the chance to jump in at least once.

"Of course!" Sora didn't need to brace herself this time, having gotten used to the sensation of the sword being pulled from her body during the previous round. "Don't worry about me, Tsuki," it bore repeating, "Just do your best!"

That was simply how Sora was, and Tsuki knew that all too well. Her idiotic and honorable knight who would always protect her when she needed it, ever since they were little. She had faith in Sora as well, no matter what. But for once, Tsuki would be the one protecting her.

"Very well..." she said plainly, before reaching forward to draw her weapon. She wasn't sure the words were necessary as well, but she would say them anyway. Simply force of habit, perhaps. "Utopia is here!" she shouted with determination, as the blade came forth from Sora's chest. She held the long sword in one hand, appraising it as she saw it for the first time. A simple and straightforward weapon, yet effective and powerful all the same. Yes, it was definitely a fitting reflection of Sora.

Lelouch looked to Suzaku. He was a bit concerned for his Knight's state of mind following the incident with Kotarou, but he trusted in his strength to carry on. "How it is now, is how it must be. For now," he told Suzaku as a response to his question. "Do you think I would have chosen you for my Knight if I held any doubt in you?"

But as the other pair prepared, he called over to them. "I hope you won't consider this a case of the boys vs. the girls, Himoto-san, Aoi-san," he said, his usage of the honorifics intentional, of course. He'd dealt too much and for too long with the Japanese to forgo them at this point. Besides, they shared similar goals, so he had plenty of reason to show them as much consideration as possible. But his tone was light, almost playful.

He stood beside Suzaku as he had before the fight with Kotarou. He glanced to his Player to tell him he was ready.

"Of course not!" Sora grinned across the battlefield at Lelouch. She nodded to Suzaku, smile not leaving her face, then took a few steps back, putting herself far enough away that Tsuki wouldn't have to worry about hitting her. Her expression was more sober, watchful. Not that she wasn't close enough that she could run in if she was needed, but it was the principle of the thing.

Lelouch walked away from Suzaku, and watched the two girls. This would be his first real observation of a battle, and he didn't want to miss anything.
