Knight Training
Characters: Arthur and you
Format: starting Action, will match
This log is: open to Conquest students (or anyone skipping class when they're outside)
Location: Classrooms -> Outside
Summary: Arthur is a teacher. He teaches Knight Training. AKA, Arthur tests your skills.
Warnings: Arthur may be in a bad mood thanks to Day
Classroom
[If there is anything that Arthur is good at, it's training his knights. They aren't the best around due to some freak accident, they trained hard for that title, with Arthur as their leader. It was something that Arthur was extremely proud of, the skill of his knights, so he wasn't against teacher it here. What he was against was teaching it to a bunch of kids who probably had no business holding a sword. Could they even make it through the work out? Or carry the armor? Luckily, he had no armor for them to carry, but still.]
[When class starts Arthur stands up tall in front of the class, his feet a few inches apart and his hands clasped behind his back] Welcome to Knight Training. In Camelot in order to be Knight you need to be of noble birth and prove yourself worthy before you even begin your training. Obviously the same is not true here, but that doesn't mean you can be a knight without knowing the Knight's Code. Tell me, do any of you know any part of the Knight's Code? [he's waiting.]
Outside
[After his Knight's Code lesson, Arthur takes them outside for the most basic of trainings. They don't even have sword, but they do have brooms and mops that he probably made Merlin collect for him.]
The first thing you need to know about sword fighting, is how to hold a sword. Pick up a pole and hold as you think you should a sword and I will come and correct your hand placement as well as your stances.
[well, get to it!]

Tell me of the rules governing your knights then, we can see how comparable they are.

He went on to explain the other laws of knighthood, of protection and loyalty.]

Can anyone be a knight?

Give it here.
[that's the only warning he gives before taking the broom from her, planting the broom side into the ground, stepping on the pole, and snapping it to a more manageable size.]
[he offers it to her]
That should make it easier.

[She takes it and sure enough, now that it's smaller, she improves. She steps back and takes a few swings. They are not very good, as she's had no formal training but it's obvious she knows how a sword works the the very least.]
no subject
Stop. Let me correct your grip.
[he walks forward and places her hands in the correct place, splaying her fingers accordingly.]
When you swing make sure you are aware of the positioning of your feet, as you are now it would be easy to knock you over.

That's why I kept getting knocked over..I thought it was because I'm smaller then everyone.

Being smaller can often be a huge advantage in a fight, if you can be faster than your opponent then it will be harder for them to land a hit. There is also the fact that you're a smaller target. You need to play to your strengths. If you can build up your speed and stamina then you would be a difficult opponent.

[She tilts her head to the side. She really wanted to know.]

[But wait..there is a stumbling block in her thought process]
What's exercise anyways?
[And she was doing SO well....]

I... excuse me?
[he must have heard that wrong]

[She was slower on this response, slightly pulling back. She was expecting the usual response she's always heard.]
