dude he's like in a coma

Characters: Kotarou, visitors
Format: any
This log is: open
Location: one of the infirmary rooms.
Summary: After this battle, Kotarou is transferred to the infirmary to recover from his Exaclan-induced coma. This log covers the three days he's out, and his waking up after that. Depending on 'when' you visit, he might not respond, but feel free to mingle around the unconscious kid.
Warnings: moar trauma. Copious angst. Possibly people will get punched.
The room is small, one of the minor rooms set aside for students who aren't in the infirmary for a scraped knee or a cold. There are several metal chairs scattered around the room, as well as a single table and a curtain that can be pulled around the bed if need be. The bed itself swamps the boy lying in it, with white sheets and a faded green coverlet; a monitor is within reach on the bedside unit. It beeps every minute, on the dot, to let the nurse know his charge is still alive. Despite this and the drip in his arm, visitors are assured that he will wake up with no negative side-effects within a few days.

Kallen almost fell over. She wasn't expecting that sort of strength and it didn't help that she had been out of training for two months. She leveled herself, standing up straight.

"Nothing here? I'm sorry, but do you think you're the only person Kotarou knows? There's a thing called 'paying one respects' to a person who has gotten injured or has fallen." Kallen voice carried a certain sort of rage she hadn't heard come from her in a long time.

"But if you're going to sit here and pick a fight with me, while Kotarou is unconscious, I can't tell you how disrespectful that is. Do you think he would be happy or okay with knowing that two people concerned about him are fighting right in front of him. Or are you okay with not respecting him at all? And considering your actions, I'm sure you're doing nothing here but disturbing him."

Huashi sniffed, something between a haughty nose in the air and an actual teary sniff.

"Just because you know him, doesn't mean you're his friend or he trusts you. He can tell me what he wants when he's awake, but now he isn't and you can't fix him," Huashi said with another quiet snarl, straightening out from her crouch and sitting down properly at the edge of the bed.

"You can't fix him." Huashi said again with a narrow stare, as if that explained everything. And besides, who was she to talk about respect! She'd barged in here. And who was it that lived with Kotarou? Not that woman, obviously.

Frustrated, Huashi rubbed at her eyes again. She wasn't going to cry. Not in front of someone like that.

"And who left you to be the judge of that? Do I look like the type of person to attack someone while they're defenseless? I came here in after seeing what happened to him." Kallen crossed her arms against her chest. "I didn't say I came in here to fix him. But guess what, you can't either."

Kallen turned her back. "I'm not going to sit here and disrespect him by arguing with his supposed 'watch dog'. I'll be back and when I return, I won't let you stop me from seeing him. You can bet on that."

"I hope you feel better about yourself now." And back out the door she goes.

Huashi had no idea what she meant about Huashi feeling "better about herself now", but it doesn't matter, because at least she's left. And besides, it wasn't as if that woman couldn't see Kotarou from where she'd been standing.

Another sniff, and she rubbed away the treacherous tears. Adults were just stupid. Daddy wasn't, of course, and Wujing and Baije were all right, and Xuanzang... well, he was Xuanzang, so there wasn't much to think about that.

Kotarou wasn't still that woman's friend, so she could just stay away.

... Biting her lip, Huashi wished she remembered the only prayer Xuanzang had taught her. She couldn't even remember if it was good for a situation like this, but... Stupid adults, stupid game, stupid powers. Why were always powerful things so often unfair, and even moreso against those who had done nothing to deserve it?
