dude he's like in a coma

Characters: Kotarou, visitors
Format: any
This log is: open
Location: one of the infirmary rooms.
Summary: After this battle, Kotarou is transferred to the infirmary to recover from his Exaclan-induced coma. This log covers the three days he's out, and his waking up after that. Depending on 'when' you visit, he might not respond, but feel free to mingle around the unconscious kid.
Warnings: moar trauma. Copious angst. Possibly people will get punched.
The room is small, one of the minor rooms set aside for students who aren't in the infirmary for a scraped knee or a cold. There are several metal chairs scattered around the room, as well as a single table and a curtain that can be pulled around the bed if need be. The bed itself swamps the boy lying in it, with white sheets and a faded green coverlet; a monitor is within reach on the bedside unit. It beeps every minute, on the dot, to let the nurse know his charge is still alive. Despite this and the drip in his arm, visitors are assured that he will wake up with no negative side-effects within a few days.

Suzaku blinked at Huashi, surprised at the change and unbelieving that she wanted him anywhere near Kotarou. Suzaku didn't believe that she wouldn't just scream at him again but then he saw that the pilot had held out her hand. That was strange as well but Suzaku was glad for the support so he reached up and took it silently as they moved into the room.

Kallen followed him in and cast her glance at the other girl. "Go on," she nudged Suzaku, "There's a lot more you want to say to him than I do right now."

The ex-pilot look a step towards Haushi. "How is he doing?"

Huashi looked up from where she'd been staring at Kotarou's unmoving, but faintly relaxed face. The only thing she could connect Kotarou's expression to what Xuanzang; he always looked kinda worried, or constipated, even when unconcious. She hadn't really thought the woman would try to talk to her.

"The nurse says he's fine. I think he's lying... Unconcious people wake up soon, and that 'nurse' said he'd be out days! That's not fine!" Huashi complained, but kept her real fear quiet. She'd never seen an unconcious person be unconcious for days... Either you woke up, or you didn't...

"Kotarou is strong. I believe he will be fine. There have been in unconscious states for longer, so while three days is still a long time, it's a good number." At least he would wake up. She may have not known Kotarou all that well, but from their actions, she knew the boy wouldn't give up his life without a fight. "At long as he gives the reactions the doctors are looking for, he will be just fine. So believe that he'll wake up because I know he will."

She wasn't sure she believed the woman. That guy with... with... she couldn't remember, but the bare thought of whatever it was made her scars ache and a cold frisson of something wtinge through her, but that guy who'd taken her haid said he wasn't going to hurt her, and he had lied.

The Merciful Goddess... She had helped, helped Huashi see her daddy when he was gone, then helped heal her back, but she'd said Daddy wouldn't be hurt, and that was a lie too. They lied all the time, so why, how, could she trust that woman? But... she could think of Kotarou as in the same situation when daddy had been gone. He had come back. So Huashi tried to smother the fear of death and squeezed the slack fingers.

"But I can't do anything..." And that was worse in her mind. Belief only got you so far, after all.

"And neither can I. It's only Kotarou who can do something now." Kallen didn't like feeling helpless in a situation like this, but she knew better. Sometimes you just had to put your faith in other people when you could do nothing. The same had went for her and her mother's recovery and she left protecting Lelouch in Suzaku's hands. She knew he would be capable of it.

Suzaku walked slowly towards Kotarou's bed shaking so much as he saw the unconcious boy. He had done this... He stumbled but forced himself to get closer and knelt by the bed.

"I'm sorry Kotarou..."

But there was another player still to come. Lelouch let himself in quietly, his demeanor appropriately solemn and serious. In his hand was the Exaclan manual. But Suzaku and Kallen would recognize the air of command around him. As though he would have something for them following paying his respects.

"The Exaclan manual states that just this sort of thing can happen if a Weapon is severely damaged or broken," he said. "He'll awaken in a few days, and be himself again after a few more." He sounded a bit cold, but since he hadn't been surprised by the reaction, it stood to reason. "It's all a part of the programming of this school."

Suzaku turned from where he was knelt at Kotarou's side. It was Lelouch and his calm, authoritive, almost cold, tone cut through Suzaku's panic and confusion. "It says that in the book?" He asked dully. This place expected things like this to happen, so much that there was a section in the rule book about it? Well that was just wrong....

He clenched his fists slightly, "Who are they? How do we bring them down?" It was more to himself, he knew Lelouch didn't have the answers but he was angry and upset.
