Characters: Juri and whoever else happens by
Format: Any
This log is: open
Location: The Fortitude gym
Summary: Fencing practice.
Warnings: None as yet.
Juri had gone to check out Fortitude's gym as soon as she was able to, and had been gratified to find that its storage rooms were well-equipped with fencing gear (along with the necessary implements to play every other sport Juri could name and some that she couldn't, apparently). So she'd kitted herself out and taken a foil and gone into the main room to do some basic drills. Of course, this situation was hardly ideal for practice: the unfamiliar equipment felt strange, and there was only so much she could do in the absence of an opponent. But she had to keep her skills honed, didn't she? It wouldn't do to go getting rusty.
Besides, she had to admit that there was something comforting in the familiar, repetitive rhythm of the drills. She could just let her muscles work and not have to think about, well, any of the things she'd rather not be thinking about right now.

But it was pretty sweet to actually watch her, now that he got too.

"Hello—Dave, wasn't it?"

Dave gave her a nod. He wasn't sure if she preferred if he wrote on paper again or use his PDA. PDA was faster though, so hopefully she doesn't mind the bright red font too much.
i guess you settled in well enough?

even during the rounds things are pretty ok
There were times where things got difficult and it's always a little stressful when people suddenly leave, but Dave finds the place pretty decent for the most part.

After all, when was the last time she'd been off the grounds of Ohtori for any significant length of time? Not in years, she was fairly sure. And this place, for all its similarities, was still rather unfamiliar. Besides, she hated not knowing what the purpose of all this dueling was. At home, they had at least been clear on that point.

question
how long have you been fencing?
They're told it's to go home, but he doesn't get why they got dragged here to win a stupid game in the first place. But eh. He's not super curious about it. It's a lot tamer than the last game he played.
