A gift to the ones who care!

Characters: Cirno, Yuka, Becca and Shion

Location: Lakeside, near the forest.
Summary: Cirno decides to spend some raks on her friends and wants it to be a surprise
Warnings: Kindness and maybe some sappyness?

After the whole thing that ended up with her hurt, Cirno decided to give a gift to her friends. After doing her duties, she took off to the shop and made her choice, paid for it and took off towards the lake, close to the forest. She was excited to be able to do this, although she kinda wished she could have given them these without them knowing it was her. She pulled a piece of paper out and wrote her note and got prepped for the next phase.

[At the Lake]

There is no sign of Cirno at all, just a piece of paper with 3 small bags holding it up. Those who have seen these bags before could probably tell they were the bags the memory charms were held in. They are arranged under the paper to show which bag belongs to who-

Shion stared at the strange message on his PDA but started to make his way to the lake. He had no idea who Cirno was and his confusion was only heightened when he he saw the note. No person, no face to the name. Just a note that thanked him... thanked him for what? Something the him who he had no memory of had done.

He picked up the memory and clipped it onto his bracelet, smiling as he remembered the names of the robots that used to clean the park in No. 6. Something he hadn't even realised he had forgotten.

Slipping out from the treetops and through the brush comes the one who started this all. Cirno is being very quiet and not as energetic as she usually is. She walks close, holding both of her bandaged hands in front of her as she decides to speak. This was probably a good time to try and be friends again.

"Was it a good memory Shion?"

Shion turned round at the words, it was the girl he had made upset when the translators had gone down. At least he could understand her now, he nodded. "Thank you... Cirno... I... Are you alright now?" He saw her hands, wondering if she was hurt.

The fairy nods, offering up a smile, "I always bounce back! I'm the Strongest after all!" Cirno hit one hand against her chest, not thinking about it at the last part. She winced at the pain that shot through it but tried to grin it off. She took a step forward, "Even if you don't remember me...I still remember. You gave me my memory of my home. Maybe we can be friends again?"

Shion smiled, glad that she wasn't upset now. He felt so bad that his presence upset people when he couldn't even remember who they were, but he welcomed the offer of being friends again. "I did?" He smiled again, "I hope it was a good memory, I would be happy to be friends again."

The fairy's face lights up and any nervous tension she was holding is gone in a instant. She had actually been afriad that he would say no. "Thank you Shion! I promise I'l be a good friend..and never forget, even if this place tries to make me!" Cirno's excitement had her floating in the air a bit at her statement. This was one promise she REFUSED to break.

"It was a very good one. I didn't remember anything about my home, Gensokyo. There are things I a missing but they will come in time."

Shion gave a sad smile because that's exactly what he had done; forgotten. Like he had forgotten nothing in his whole life before he arrived here...

"I hope they do, when I get enough raks I can get you another memory, since I can't remember buying you the first!"

Cirno blinked and then shook her head. She wasn't expecting anything out of this except to give a gift. She was surprised to hear what she was hearing and shook her head.

"You don't have ta! I just wanted to say thank you. No need ta give me something as well!"

"Still I would like to, as I can't remember what you are thanking me for." He grinned, "And friends help each other right? We will need our memories if we escape from here."

Yuka didn't really understand Cirno's message.

Cirno had smithing for her? Didn't that involve a lot of -heat-? It didn't make any sense. The location was easier. Cirno and lakes just seemed to go together.

Yuka wasn't rushing this time. It didn't seem like she needed to, and the sun felt really good today, so she was moving at a more leisurely pace.

When she arrived, she saw Cirno and Shion talking. It brought a smile to her face. Maybe her advice would turn out to be good after all. She decided to leave them to it, and continued looking around.

After all, she still didn't see any anvils or anything!

Then she saw the note, and realized her mistake. 'Something', not 'smithing'! That made a lot more sense. Especially since the 'something' was right there below her name.

This time, Yuka wasn't inclined to demur when given a gift. Not after the conversation they'd had not far from here. She promptly opened the bag and put the charm on.

How interesting. She hadn't thought about that person in a while...

Usually stealth and Cirno did not mix, due to her ether getting excited and saying something loudly or the cold aura she usually radiated gave her away. But without those two things involved, she tried not to disturb Yuka after her conversation with Shion. She watched for a moment, giving time for the memory to be enjoyed..so she hoped at least!

"Was that a good memory Yuka?"

There was a very curious yet hesitant look and tone she had taken. When one has learned that some were harmful, one will make sure to find out before asking much else.

"Hmmmmm.... I think I'd call it a good one." Yuka smiled. "It made me think of someone I hadn't thought of lately. She'd probably have fun here..."

The fairy looked relieved at the sound of that, "Good. I was kinda afraid it would be a bad one. Especially after it being a thank you gift!" Cirno was quiet for a moment after that, fighting with her curiosity. She knew it was a good possibility she would not remember but...

"Who's that?"

Look like curiosity won that round!

"Aya Shameimaru. She has a newspaper back home..." Which was what Yuka was focusing on, since it's what she'd just remembered. "She'd make things up whenever she couldn't find any real news... I think I'd really enjoy reading whatever she came up with here."

For that matter, just seeing her deliver the papers could be quite a show.

Cirno frowns for a moment, thinking hard on that name. The more her head stated to hurt, she realized it was probably linked to a lost memory of her own. She quickly shook her head to try and clear her mind of the pain and the idea of trying to force it, She knew better by now.

"I don't remember her..But she sounds interesting! I'd try to read what she'd write, just to see what she thinks of everything!"

Yuka smiled. "It's always interesting, if nothing else."

Suddenly, something else occurred to her. "Oh! I have something I should give you too." She dug around in her bag for a moment before pulling out a small bundle and handing it to Cirno. "I thought you might want to have this. It's the items Sanae left behind... I think the memory is something about Gensokyo."

Her expression turns solemn as she is handed the bundle. She holds it to her heart for a moment before speaking, "I'll put them in my box..I kinda doubt I'll be able to use the charm." She then smiles a bit trying to brighten up, "Besides..it'd be kinda prying into her life if I tried...and if I ever go, they can stay and maybe be recovered if she returns. Guess I'll have to update my note with it!"

She laughs a bit at this. Not the happiest thing to remember or to do, but she's keeping track of it. But it doesn't seem to bother her....Much.

Yuka looked a bit solemn herself. "I've had some concerns about that myself... If it was a friend, I don't think I'd mind. But I found a couple charms before, that I have no idea who they belonged to... I'd like to give them to someone appropriate, but I don't know how I'd find the right person without looking."

What she didn't say was that she had, in fact, already looked at them once. She'd been taken by surprise the first time... but it'd kind of bothered her once she figured out what was going on.

Another shake of her head, Cirno had learned this lesson the hard way.

"I guess it's not so much as prying as it is a problem. I tried Alice's once...and only once. I don't dare try Marisa's or this one Sanae left. Her's caused a really bad headache the kept getting worse as I left it on. There is a third one I have that I could use just fine but...I dunno who that was..."

She leaves out the fact that it was worse then any of the penalties or things she had seen so far here. Nor that she was probably EXTREMELY lucky she got the charm back off by herself. She then smiles, as if the whole situation didn't bug her and shrugs.

"Maybe I'll try again when I get another memory back, Might let me see. But I dunno if I'll want to.."

Becca gasped in awe the moment she saw that Cirno had bought her a memory charm. She picked it up, but pointedly did not clip it on just yet.

"Cirno? Cirno get out here so I can hug you."

It took a moment but after a bit of rustling leaves and and slight giggle, Cirno appears from the tree line. She was kinda hoping to pop up later but oh well!

"I guess I'm busted huh?"

Becca laughed softly, tucking the pouch into her school bag and holding her arms out to the other for a hug. "Yeah, busted. It's a lovely gift. Come here. Thank you."

The fairy smiles brightly, glad that her gift was a good choice. She happily flies over to Becca and hugs her tightly as soon as she got into range. After a moment, Cirno speaks softly, concern hiding in the happy tone, "I hope it's a happy memory for you Becca." She remembered that last time she knew Becca got a memory back and was hoping that maybe it would be lucky enough for something happy.

"I hope so, too," she murmured, squeezing her tight. "But I want to be happy that I have such a good friend right now instead of risking it, so I'm going to put it on later."

"Okay." She smiled and was quiet for a moment before speaking again, "Even if it is bad..That means you are one step closer to being whole again."

"It's one step closer to finding out my brother's name," she said with a sigh.

Cirno just nods lightly, not saying a word for the moment. She then nods once more, "Good or bad..it's still taking back what is rightfully yours. Something that should never have been taken from you."

Alright..Who is this and what have the done to the fairy?

Becca is indeed concerned, but not quite sure what to say to that. "Yeah. That's...why I keep a hold of even the bad ones. I can't just...run from my past like that."

As if she never said what she had before, a happy smile took over her face breaking her very serious expression. She's either forgotten what she just said or is pretending like it wasn't too important.

"Still! Better to get them back now rather then later huh?"

"Exactly," she agreed. She was a bit disturbed by Cirno's strange manner, but she decided it wasn't worth spoiling the moment to think too hard about.
