Gymnasium [OPEN]

Characters: Kallen Kozuki and you, obviously.
Format: Prose or action, pick your poison.
This log is: OPEN
Location: The gymnasium.
Summary: After seeing Kotarou in his condition and not wanting to let that happen (to him or anyone else she knew) again, Kallen trains. She's two+ months out of practice and if she's going to plan on protecting someone, then it's about that time. Just some image training to get her through for now. If your character wants to spar with her, just observe, or hand her a water, by all means. Just don't go through her stuff in the corner and ask what this is.
Warnings: N/A
Notes: If you know Kallen well enough, she has a little problem with her chest area. But you'll notice now that she looks a bit flatter. Thank you binding.

Kallen threw one punch after the other. It didn't matter how tired she got, it didn't matter. Kotaru was still unconscious and Haushi knocked her down with a mere push. She had been out of training for months, becoming the normal student she wanted to be. She was an "ex-terrorist", an ex-pilot, and an ex-fighter. All those things needed to change if she wanted to seek the act of protecting someone.

Swiftly, she pulled off a roundhouse kick before ducking and striking before. She could feel her moves were sloppy and not how they used to be. She would have to hone those skills now if she wanted to be what she used to be. A Black Knight. She was the ace of the team and she would use her power to protect. Except it wasn't Lelouch this time. She couldn't do that and Kallen personally left that in the hands of Suzaku. Kallen couldn't watch out for him, not like before.

For now, she would protect Kotarou whether he was aware of it or not at the moment (she told him so while he was unconscious). It was her mission now, something she sought out to do. Dressed in a tank top and short despite the weather, she was going to train.

Grenn shrugged, not sure what to say. Because, honestly, who would be okay with pain that the brain couldn't even temporarily shut off?

"There's unavoidable pain from the prostethics. But I need to get better about standing it. That's why I came here," Grenn finally said, briefly rubbing her forehead. One good thing; the first times she started to adjust to her legs, she got a tension headache from the pain and all the tensing she did in anticipation of it. There was still no headache.

Another practical thing was that the extra pain from overloaded nerves went away as quickly as it came; things were back to the 'I am standing on a floor' pressure and the regular pain associated with that.

Grenn shook her head and made a sweeping gesture with one hand.
"Already am. It's all these sudden spikes which will happen during the battles..." Grenn snapped, she couldn't help it. She liked Kallen, but did the other woman really believe she wasn't used to something like that? Hadn't already gotten used to the regular use of the prostethics?

"Sorry," Grenn says with a shrug as she follows Kallen's example. "But I really need to get on top of this..." She stops with a grimace, though, because she's probably gonna end up on the floor at the end. But that will simply have to happen, then. She needs to know how long she can handle this.

It half connected, Grenn managing to deflect it partly from where it hit her in the lower torso. She slid back half a step or so, sucked in air and then dropped down, holding herself up with a hand as she kicked out.

This time, Grenn managed to completely avoid everything except one aimed low; it hit the left leg between knee and flesh. That Kallen would probably have an aching, buised hand (maybe more, depending on how hard she hit) since she'd driven her hand into metal, Grenn wasn't particularly coherent to appreciate, because her brain had decided it'd had enough.

Fire, and then ice, not so much where Kallen had hit, as around the different connective ports between artificial leg and flesh leg, shot straight into the bone and then up into her brain. Grenn collapsed, breathing deeply while clutching her head, not the leg, which had already stopped hurting more than usual.

"Okay... I think... hngh, that'm done. Too much..." Grenn slowly straightened out and sat up.

Grenn looked up and managed a faint, lop-sided smile.
"Too late for that, and, well... it may be necessary... It'll be fine. I just need to--" Grenn paused and took another breath. Even the regular pressure-pain of the prostethics just being attached was now much more palpable than usual.

"Just... Need to get out of these," she said and gestured to her legs, got up, swayed and stumbled, then righted herself. "I can do this," Grenn muttered, mostly to herself. The wheelchair wasn't that far away. She could do this.

"I... I suppose not," Grenn muttered and shook her head, then held out a hand.

"Maybe... a shoulder over to the wheelchair?"

What Grenn really wanted to do was drop down and just disconnect from her legs, but she would walk over there. It wasn't impossible. She had help.

It didn't take too long though before she could drop herself down into the wheelchair's seat and disconnect the legs simply through the cloth of the pants.

"Thanks." Grenn looked up from putting the prostethics back into the bag she carried them around in. Her face was much more relaxed now, and Grenn was faintly amazed at how she hadn't really noticed how bad it was until she disconnected.

Turning back forward from wrestling the bag over the back, Grenn shrugged.

"I'm not... used to these wheelchairs... At my home, the mobility aids are much better so I don't really notice much..."

"Er... it's just... what I call our versions of these," Grenn said and patted the arm of the wheelchair. It's not exactly a lie either, considering a hoverchair is her present's wheelchair.

"There's the prostethics, and the other mobility aids..." Grenn shrugged.

Apparently Kallen had figured a few thiings out. Grenn rubbed her face and sighed.

"Year 326 GMC. Don't ask me for when it was instated compared to the Gregorian calendar, I have no idea..." Which she didn't. The Gregorian calendar was, after all, not the calendar her family had ever used.

Kallen really had figured something out, so all Grenn did was nod. There really was no reason to deny what she'd said, after all.

"Very possible... Or some of the others."

Grenn nodded slowly, reminded of her and Yuki's discussion in the dining hall.

Then she remembered something...

"Kallen. You know Gino?" It was just something that struck her, because if Kallen knew Gino, then they weren't from the same world/reality/whatever, because a place called 'Brittania' hadn't existed... not in that spelling of the name.
