This log is: open
Location: Courtyard
Summary: Books are not fun when you can't read them.
Warnings:
Why couldn't he read! He had learnt, he had worked so hard at learning to read, he could even remember managing to read Moby Dick so why couldn't he read now! He could even read when words came up on the magic walls but trying to read this book! Romeo turned another page and stared at it, it was no good all the letters just melted into squiggles that melted down the page and...

In annoyance Romeo through the book to the ground but then instantly regretted it and jumped up to pick it up again. "I'm sorry Alfredo, I know I shouldn't throw books but... They said this one was important and had the rules in it and I can't remember the letters!" How could he have forgotten how to read? After everything the doctor, Alfredo and Angeletta had taught him. Now he was at school he couldn't even read!

Kuchinawa had just moved in to the school. He had brought all of his stuff to his supposedly empty dorm room and decided that he should give those who decided to use that room as a meeting ground the privacy they deserved... after he figured out who was in there, of course. It wasn't so hard to do. He'd encountered Sora and her friends before.

So he decided to take a walk around the school. It wasn't so different from where he came from. The towers were there, the cafeteria, the courtyard--

Did that boy just throw a book to the ground? Wow, that's not how you're supposed to treat books. Kuchinawa stopped on his tracks and decided to approach him.

"Is something wrong?" He smiled.

He hummed to himself as he sat next to the boy. He wasn't averse to sitting on the floor. The Student Council office didn't have tables and chairs. He was used to it.

"And was it a very moving tale?"

"You can read but you can't read that book?" He holds out his hand as if asking for the book to be given to him. What if he couldn't read to? It was something worth checking.

Kuchinawa leafed through the book. So there was Exaclan in this school, but it wasn't the same Exaclan that he played. Women could wield weapons now? Men could have weapons with them? Strange, definitely strange. He wondered if this was still the work of Iwahijiri.

Ah, but he was having a conversation with this boy, wasn't he?

"Then maybe you can't read books.

Moby Dick, huh? That was something most boys his age would claim to touch, let alone read. This boy was either really troubled by his sudden inability to read or was a very convincing liar. Kuchinawa would react the same either way.

"It's Exaclan's rulebook, a must-read for every player of this game, especially if they want to avoid certain penalties."

"It's a whole book of rules. I'm afraid I can't tell you much about it since I haven't had the chance to read it myself." He handed the book back to the boy. He noticed how wary the boy was, as if he was afraid that he was going to get scolded at. Kuchinawa had to stifle a laugh.

"Why don't you read it with someone you trust? Or why don't you ask someone to get a memory charm for you?"

"Do you mean Sora Himoto? Yes, I have met her before." The circumstances of their meeting, however, was a bit fuzzy to Kuchinawa. He remembered being called out by Shoujou. He remembered having to carry someone out of the playing field. But he could not remember who. Still, this wasn't the best time to contemplate on such things too deeply.

"She's gained quite a reputation for helping girls out."

"I see." His belief in her was almost endearing. Almost. "So she's helping everyone out now? The last time I saw her she was still declaring that she would save princesses."

He tilted his head slightly. "Not everyone could be a princess so I suppose she's changed since then."

"Okay." He handed the book back. Kuchinawa didn't move from his spot. He figured out that the light was good enough for some reading.

"Good luck with class."

Since it would certainly be hard for him, having lost his ability to read.
