Unfortunately Suzaku had agreed to this battle with Mei before he had fought Tsuki and lost Lelouch. That meant that since Kotarou was still recovering not that he would use the kid anyways after what happened last time and he had promised Lelouch not to use Nunnally in battle he had to use Euphemia's weapon. He didn't want to, he didn't want to hurt her; he didn't want to hurt anyone. But no one had been rendered unconscious in the last battle, so he was hoping that that was something rare. As long as they were careful.

Suzaku looked at Euphemia, "Are you sure this is alright, we can still forfeit if it's not..."

Mei and Gino Pre-Battle Awesome Hangout Time

[A distance from the dock, Mei is watching Suzaku and Euphie, peeking around the corner of a building to keep out of sight. Sure, that might be like spying, but it's really more of a reluctance to go down there and pick a fight.

After the mess she made with her last plan, what if she messed something up for those two? Or for Gino? Though she did need more tokens, seriously, like, a lot, to try and make things up to Fletcher and his brother and even Grenn...]

[Gino's just sort of leaning against the wall next to her by this point, waiting for her to resolve her deep inner conflict.

Or something. It's a shame their plan didn't work out, but he wasn't really that invested in it.]

[It wouldn't have been an issue if only she had gotten in trouble for it! But the others! Well.]

Is he? [She hops away from the wall corner and looks up, up, uuup at Gino.] I guess... I just hope Miss Euphie doesn't have a sword. He's really good with those. [Mei returns to peering around the corner.] Nnn... I can't just not show up. This isn't like with Fletcher. This is a fight between real warriors!

[Mei goes through the motions of retrieving the weapon, curious to see what'll come out.]

[so is Gino, to be honest. His dream wasn't the most lucid. He glances down as the patch of light flashes on his chest in response to the glove, and laughs again, because watching a seven-foot polearm come out of your own chest, ornate halberd tip and all, is a truly weird experience. The sound is a little strained, though, the sensation isn't exactly a pleasant one.]

Whoops. Want me to carry it?

[Getting the polearm out at all manages to knock the kid down.] ...ff. [thud] Um. [She'll just stare up at the sky for a moment, getting over the general embarrassment of getting knocked over. Then she'll roll over, setting the polearm on the ground, and get back to her feet.]

[HAULS the weapon upright after she has her own balance figured out.]

[tiny stumble backwards, a bit of a wobble forward right after, as she tries to steady the blasted thing.]

...so got this. Uuh. [Mei stares up at it.] Wow. It's really big, Gino.

[stands up once it's clear and the glow has faded, and catches it about three-quarters of the way towards the blade once she's managed to get it in the air. Partly to support it for her, and partly because he's curious about whether he's allowed to touch his own weapon without triggering some kind of hissy fit from their captors.

Apparently he is. He looks at it, then back down to Mei's dismayed face, then back up.

... yeah, there's no way anyone that short is gonna be using this. He has the grace to look just a little embarrassed through his widening smirk, but he's back to laughter at her reaction.]

Ha, sorry about that! You want me to go find Grenn instead?

[where's the Knight of Six and her camera when you need her.]

No! [Mei let go of the polearm, deciding that Gino could carry it after all. How unwieldy that weapon would be for her.] It's fine. If he's using ranged, I can go hand-to-hand.

[...and she doesn't want to bother Grenn a second time. Aaa.]

I'm hard to hit at a distance, so once I get close, it'll be over.
