Unfortunately Suzaku had agreed to this battle with Mei before he had fought Tsuki and lost Lelouch. That meant that since Kotarou was still recovering not that he would use the kid anyways after what happened last time and he had promised Lelouch not to use Nunnally in battle he had to use Euphemia's weapon. He didn't want to, he didn't want to hurt her; he didn't want to hurt anyone. But no one had been rendered unconscious in the last battle, so he was hoping that that was something rare. As long as they were careful.

Suzaku looked at Euphemia, "Are you sure this is alright, we can still forfeit if it's not..."

This was all his fault! He had forgotten that giving up meant that the weapons automatically disappeared. He was stupid and this was the second time his idiocy of not knowing all the rules had hurt someone, Mei could have drowned!

"I'm sorry Mei," He swam until he was level with her, "I forgot..."

He was an idiot.

"So did I! So! We were both being stupid, okay?"

Mei would seriously have to beat up Suzaku (again) if she knew what was on his mind. Mei, drowning? She wouldn't die so easily! What a doof. She drifted over to where he was and treaded water.

"We should start back!" Despite the abrupt and terribly wet outcome of the fight, she was smiling again. "This is cake compared to crossing a desert!"

See? Mei, Built Ford Xingese Empire Tough.

A third splash, and Gino had dived into the harbour to join them. Seeing as his was actually planned, he'd taken off his blazer before running along the jetty and jumping in.

He surfaced a few seconds later, treading water about a metre away from Mei.

"Did we win?"

No, it hadn't been too clear what had happened from shore.

And then a fourth splash! Euphemia isn't a particularly strong swimmer, but she's worried enough about her knight that she doesn't mind. She's slipped off her vest and shoes and socks before hopping in, shirt and skirt still on.

Swimming out, she goes to Suzaku. "Are you okay?"

Suzaku nodded at Mei; he knew she was tough, but crossing a dessert did not mean that you knew how to swim... Still she seemed to be having no difficulties and they started back to shore.

Just to be met by Gino and Euphemia who had decided to jump in the water as well. He treaded water and gave Euphemia a small smile. "I'm alright," he stayed close, he didn't know how good a swimmer Euphemia was, he looked over to Gino. "Yes you won," he sounded slightly embarrassed about that.

Of course it means you can swim. Deserts are just like oceans, except with sand, right? Yeah, it totally made sense.

When they met the other two on the swim back in, Mei threw her arms up and joyously answered Gino's question. "We did!" Aaand she sinks a little, because she stopped treading water. Uh. Flail, splash. There. Back above water again.

"Um, why did you two jump in, too? Now we're all wet!"

Oh, shoes and socks. Yeah, those too.

"Well do-- ah, don't drown, okay? That'd look bad on the tape." He swam over to Mei, in case she wanted to grab onto something for further celebrating - flailing was serious business, after all - and flicked water at her.

"Because it looked like fun!"

"Ah, well," She laughs a little. "Yes, it's as Gino says. I was a bit worried, and-- it looked like fun, so... And I'm glad you're both okay."

Suzaku had been thinking the same thing; why had they decided to jump in. But then again why did Gino need a reason to do anything?

"Yes we're fine, we just forgot the flying would stop once the battle was over," he sounded embarrassed about this as well. "We should probably get back to shore?"

He really didn't want anyone drowning.

"I won't!" Mei was going to wait to do any other celebrating while on shore. She blinked at the Knight of Three. "What video-- ah!" She flinched away from the water flicked at her, but only out of surprise. She immediately retaliated by splashing Gino right back. Take that!

"Yyeeaah, we should get to shore. I don't want to lose my shoes out here!"

She's been using her own shoes this entire time. The ones that were part of the uniform? Not her thing.

"Right, right." Gino grinned at the revenge assault, then ducked under the water long enough to swim over to Suzaku, surface, and drench him with a rather more enthusiastic splash.

In his defense, that technically involved swimming closer to shore.

Euphemia giggles at the splashfight that erupts, adding her own splash to the mix-- aimed at Gino, and a bit unsure. She doesn't want to get water in his eyes, after all. "Yes, to the shore!"

Suzaku gave a half smile that was not completely chearful. He merely wiped the water out of his eyes that Gino had splashed at him and nodded at Euphemia, time to get back to the shore.

Sorry kids, Mei isn't noticing those looks Gino and Euphie are trying to communicate with. It might be on purpose. Dunk Suzaku? Really? He's already been beaten by a little girl and dumped in the harbor. Nothing can top that. She swam shorewards along with everyone else. As fun as swimming is, she was just as happy to get back onto shore.

"Bleeh. Squishy socks." Yeah, those shoes and socks get pulled off once she hits dry land.

"Man, that's no fun..."

But his complaint wasn't serious; Gino trod water for a little longer, in case anyone changed their minds about heading back to land, then swam back to his discarded shoes and blazer when they'd all gotten out ahead of him. There'd be other chances for swimming, anyway.

He made sure to flick water at the buzzkill Knight of Seven anyway.

She pouts a little before quickly joining Mei on shore. No fun at all. Euphemia gathers up her shoes and socks and vest, holding them carefully away from her wet body. "Squishy everything..."

Suzaku shook water off himself and glared at Gino. "Let's go get dried up," he said, mainly to deter Gino from getting back in the water.

"It's not like the water is going anywhere, Gino!"

They'll be back. There will be non-battle related swimming. It will probably include throwing Suzaku in the water regardless of that. She started walking back towards the campus, content to walk alongside Euphemia since they were in the same dorm.

There had better be, Mei, or he'd be joining your rebellion.

"That doesn't-- ah," he blinked, then looked up at the clock tower as the dinner chime sounded.

Then looked back down, and around, at their collectively sodden clothing.
