First day of round one, first battle!
Weapons: Meryl Silverburgh and Gino Weinberg Huashi Sun vs. Lyra Silvertongue
Location: The Courtyard
Time of day:
Huashi scratched her neck and weighed the metal weapon in her hand. It wasn't heavy to her, but projectile weapons weren't really her thing... She could do bows, but that was about it. But it wasn't as if she could run around and whack her opponent in the head with this, right? That wasn't how you used a projectile weapon, despite the fact that it surely was sturdy enough for that!
"Uhh. I was really gonna learn this better before I used it, but oh well!" Huashi wasn't really one for contemplating missed opportunities.

"Ready?" Lyra asked as she pulled her glove on.

"Utopia is here!" There was a flash of light and Lyra held the partisan up, jumping up and down until she was airborn, the sharp end of the partisan pointed towards her opponent, and a look of utmost concentration on her face.

But, he could cope. That taken care of, Gino stepped back and away from the two players.
"Good luck, Lyra. Don't lose!"
Re: /aaand ducks out of posting order
"Okay... Let's go then!" So saying, Huashi's first attempt went wild. Very, very wild, as the bullet flew past Lyra an arm's length away and diagonally up in the air.
"Oops!" With a shrug, Huashi dashed around Lyra, meaning to aim for her back.

She just needed to stay close to her opponent and keep her from hitting Gino's weapon.

She may also have stepped on/hit Lyra's head when she did that. Turning around even before landing, Huashi tried for a second shot, but aiming this thing was hard.

Lyra pushed back, trying to catch Huashi with the butt of the partisan, then spun around, trying to hit the other girl with the shaft of her weapon with all of her upgrade enhanced strength, and winced as a shot grazed her side.
It's not real. But you have to act like it is- you win fights by hurting your opponent more than you get hurt yourself, Lyra reminded herself.
no subject
Her fingers hurt, though. But that was hardly enough to stop her. Huashi was hardy, and had had harder hits and kept on going.
no subject
Lyra followed her as she stepped back, lunging forward to try to press her advantage as she targeted the other girl's side.
no subject
"Hey, watch out!"
She used her free hand to point to Lyra's attack.

Once again, Huashi jumped up. A trace too late, as the very tip of the blade carved a thin line of fire along her back as she jumped, but that, too, wasn't impossible to stand.
She ended up standing on the shaft of the partisan, grinned at Lyra, and jumped again. Using her head as a handrest (and slamming Lyra's head downwards), Huashi launched herself behind her opponent, and twisted around, attempting another shot.
Unfortunately, trying to shoot someone who's flying while being fully air-borne (however temporary) yourself isn't easy, and Huashi missed. The bullet simply grazed the blade of the partisan instead.
She really wasn't any good with projectile weapons, especially those she hadn't ever used before.

Changing her angle, Lyra darted above Huashi and jabbed downwards, then moved further up.
no subject
Of course, Lyra had gone straight up, so Huashi attempted another shot before taking a jump backwards, directly from sitting on the ground. She may not be able to shoot very well, especially as she tended to move almost too soon while shooting, but she was agile.
no subject
Lyra zigzagged back to the ground, her face screwed up in concentration as she feinted to Huashi's torso, before once again aiming for the head.

Had the gun been a sword or a staff, the partisan would have been blocked, even with the feint. As it was, the huge blade went straight into her head.
Had this been real, the blade would have been buried half in her skull, and would have killed her. As it was, the pain exploded everywhere, and Huashi's vision whited out.
For a second, Lyra's opponent was unconcious, and quite incapacitated. The gun disappeared with nary a flicker as Huashi slumped back to the ground, sliding free of the blade, head bouncing as it met the dirt.
Then her eyes snapped open again.
"I realllly didn't want to experience dying again..." Huashi groaned and clutched her head.
"I suppose that means you win."
no subject
She wasn't sorry exactly, but she felt a little sick, and it showed on her face. Dropping the weapon to the ground, she held out her hand to the other girl.
no subject
"Good job!"
no subject
"That wasn't as bad as I was afraid it was going to be though," she admitted. Huashi seemed fine, after all.
no subject
"If I'd had a sword or a staff, that wouldn't have happened!" She didn't sound angry, though, just slightly put off.
Still, she hoped she wouldn't have to take that large a blade to the head again, because the feeling had been distinctly alike the one right before she lost conciosuness... died... when the tiger struck.
no subject
"It was nothing," He waved her concern away, then looked back at his fellow Weapon. "Oi, Meryl, right? Welcome to Team Lyra!"
no subject
"My name's Lyra. Pleased to meet you."
no subject
"Name's Meryl, nice to meet you." She firmly took her hand and shook.
