[Rainy days...

They always got to her. Something about the inherent dreariness.

So as to avoid going out in the rain as much as possible (and to keep her cooking skills in practice), Mai decided to pack a bentou today. As such, she's at the stove, currently folding over her tamagoyaki while little wieners fry in a pan next to her. On the counter rests a bentou box, already packed with rice and vegetables, ready to be filled with her final dishes.

It's strange packing a bentou for just one, but she hasn't been able to find Mikoto anywhere so far.] That girl... I wonder if she's forgotten me...

[That girl you're speaking about... well as you can remember, she can smell food without a probable 5 mile radius. Gaara make take her out for food and that's awesome, but this smells better. She was almost finished getting ready for the day when she smelled the aroma. Swift, like ninja, or not, she makes her way kitchen, opens the door, but then she stops.]

[It's Mai.]

[Oh.]

[Cue walking away.]

[Turning at the sound of the door opening to see who it might be, Mai catches Mikoto's face just in time for her to start to walk away.] Mikoto! Wait!

[Nope, not waiting, sorry.]

[Mai runs to the door, apron still on and spatula in hand, but she can't go much further. Her food would burn, at best, and possibly cause a fire at worst.

But still, she calls after the girl from the doorway.] Mikoto! It's me, Mai! Don't you remember me?

[She stops but doesn't turn back.]

I remember.

[Mai is silent for a moment to think that over. If she remembers...then why?] Are you avoiding me?

You're the only one I know in this place...from home...

You're my enemy, Mai. We-- we're not...

...Enemy? What are you talking about? We're friends! Not enemies!

[awildcatappears]

[She shakes her head 'no'.]

I can't remember but you were mad... really mad. And then you attacked me. Brother said that... enemies attack you and they had to be defeated. I only fight for my brother now. We're not friends anymore.

[dancingflames]

[There's so much that doesn't make sense there.]

I attacked you? But...that...that didn't happen... And your brother? You found him?

[But she can't stay here talking like this, or her food will start to burn.]

Can't we talk about this? I...I can make you a bentou too...

Yes, you did. [She sounds upset by that... but don't tell her it didn't happen.] My... my brother is the only thing that matters now. [Granted she can't remember who he is, but... but--]

[Nghn she wants that bentou so hard but...]

[Koharu looked in, watching her for a moment before she stepped up beside her, smiling sweetly] What cute side dishes. Ah do you make octupus ones? [She tries to glance at the pan without seeming too overly obtrusive]

Sora really likes those ones and they're really easy to make.

[Mai turns to the voice, talking in a friendly tone even if she doesn't smile.] Oh, thank you!

I haven't those in a while, but I used to all the time when my brother was younger. I think he got too old for them though...

I didn't think anyone got too old for octopus hotdogs. They're so cute. [takes a step back so as not to be in the way]

okay I should make her get a memory charm sometime, this not smiling thing is getting annoying sob
