Sherlock woke up this morning to discover that his skin is now a fetching shade of cyan. The effect seems to be universal among the students, as far as he can tell, but does not extend to their surroundings. He is on the lookout for exceptions and potential causes, although he does not let the search distract him from his tea and toast.

And with the chickenscratch that passed as Lloyd's notes, he would have had to sit and stare for awhile to decipher it anyway. He didn't look up from his work, in the middle of a rough outline.

"Oh? Is it?"
earlofpudding: (I told you so~)

"I am!" He stopped doodling in the notebook and looked over at Sherlock, curious. That was new. People never really felt the need to apologize for other people wanting to kill him. The threats were more often encouraged than not, actually!

"Well that's unfortunate!" he replied, ever-present smile still in place. "So what sort of unpleasantness was it that's going to get me in trouble?"
earlofpudding: (i see dead people-- wait no)

"Ah..." That got him to give the rest of the dining hall a look about. No one seemed too intent on paying him any undue attention. Lloyd turned his attention back to Sherlock. "Well, I can assure you that I'm not some duplicate here to kill you."

He tapped the notebook with the pentip.

"Unless I am and I've already killed myself. Wouldn't that be awkward~."

"But I don't feel like any rampages, so everyone is in luck."

Lloyd turns back to the schematic he has drawn out for and starts filling in a few finer details, adding a few notes.

He looks up from the notebook again. "Probably an astronaut!" Since that is what all children want to be when they grow up, right? Though seriously. "I could say, but I don't know who's..."

He points at an ear with his pen. You know, listening. He does gesture for Sherlock to come over, though.

"If you're smart, you can figure it out~."

He slides the notebook over to Sherlock. "Go right ahead." The notes written all over the page are still, for the most part, terrible chickenscratch, but enough of them can be puzzled out. Something something magnetic pulses. The rough schematic itself looks like it's something made from parts of a camera.

/gets back to this finally, s-sorry

Lloyd gets around to that breakfast he'd been ignoring earlier now that the notebook is out of his hands. It's something to do while he waits and doesn't involve staring at Sherlock while he thinks. For some reason, people find it creepy when he does that, so this is a change of pace!

What Sherry might eventually put together from the notes and doodles is that it's a design for a very rudimentary EMP device.
earlofpudding: (not bad at all)

He got it? Good boy!

Lloyd takes the notebook back and flips the cover shut, not wanting to get any crumbs from his toast on the pages. "I just need to get a few things set up and then I'll need a weapon to try it out on~."

That was the plan so far. Make device, get a weapon somehow, test.

"And just who is this wanting to attend such an experiment?"

Sherlock Holmes? That name sounded vaguely familiar, but... "Hm. Whichever you'd classify the tactile holograms under."

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told~." Science and surprises should always go hand in hand, don't you know. "It won't move ahead until I can get the parts I need, in any case, and that requires the next round of this silly game to start to judge when that'll be."
