[battle] Round 2 Tournament Preliminaries
Location: Main Courtyard, Tournament Stadium Round 2 Tournament Preliminaries
RAFIEL vs. HIKARU SULU
LLOYD ASPLUND vs. MONTBLANC
MAI TOKIHA vs. YUKA OSADA
Time of day: Afternoon.
Special Rules: One Weapon or set of Weapons per battle; Players may not leave the stadium.
[the announcement rings through the campus all morning, on the half-hour: Can all participating Players report to the Tournament Stadium for midday with their chosen Weapons. The event will begin at twelve twenty-five for all other students.
Yes, that's right, the Tournament Stadium. During the early morning of Day 1, the staff were hard at work constructing a stadium in the main courtyard. There's raised seating for all students, and a large open-air ring for the participants. There's more than enough space even for fliers, and a number of raised areas, stairs and chest-high walls to make battles more interesting. At the end of the stadium is a large screen showing the ring from above.]

The teenager had never played Exaclan or watched any of the battles (outside of that strange checkers match), so she figured it would be a good idea to watch some of the battles to observe and learn. She wouldn't put any of those skills to good use until she actually fought. Not to mention that one of these people would and could wind up being her opponent in the future.

He was here to watch Lloyd fight, he felt bad actually that he had agreed to be someone else's weapon and not Lloyd's and he hoped the scientist did well. The least he could do was be here. "Hi," he stood awkwardly not wanting to sit down until the girl showed she was comfertable with him being here.

"How have you been?"

He looked around the stadium, it was strange that it had been built overnight just for this tournament, "I didn't expect to see you here, I thought you disliked the fighting here." Of course he did too, but the Black Knight pilot had refused to fight and even now Suzaku knew she had agreed to fight to help everyone leave this place he did not think she was someone to come and watch a tournament.

"I do, but I need to fight. And just because I am doesn't mean I have to like it." She tapped the pen she's holding against the notebook in her lap. "I'm taking notes. Anyone who fights today has the potential to be my opponent in the future. I just want to be prepared."

Not being able to remember her name made things difficult, he thought of the list of players again and tried to match the girls face to the names, but none of them seemed to fit.

"Kallen Kozuki," he said when he found her name. He forogt it the moment he looked up from the paper though and sighed.

Mei had stormed up from behind the bench. All it took was a leap and a tackle -- the leap to get a foot up on the back of the bench and the tackle to, well, tackle Gino's head -- and there you have it. Small child assaulting giant knight.]

Huh?

You ditched me and Grenn for some girl! Why! Who is she?!

Grenn's got Koharu and that black-haired guy. And you, Mei. Kallen's not good at making friends, so I'm lending her a hand.

[uuuuh, okay. Now she really feels stupid about confronting Kallen. Oops.]
Yyeeaah. She did seem kinda... aloof. [But she assumed that was because she was, y'know, accusing her of thiiiings.] I guess. But.
[ghhh, she can't fuss over it if he's just being nice to a friend, so she just looks down and sulks.]
Fiiine. I guess that's okay.

D'you know who Grenn's using tomorrow?

[JUST SAYING. Ah, if only life were that simple. Mei shrugs from her new spot sitting on the bench.]
Dunno yet. I don't know what the other two have... and I don't know how well she can use kunai, soooo.

it also makes her more attractiveoh look, his mind is fogging over. What was that thought? Who knows.]I bet she'll do great.

[Somehow. Like reality matters when Mei's decided something like that.]
Hey, hey, Gino. Where did you meet Kallen? Is she from Britannia, too?

But how can you be friends if you're enemies?
no subject
No point fighting here. And she's too much fun!
no subject
[Man, Gino is being weird again. WEIRD. Enemies don't equal friends. What is this even.]
If she's fun and you're friends, why would you fight against her at all...?

[That word has 'terror' in it. It can't be good.]

Um. Would anyone destroying a government be a terrorist?
no subject
Depends what side you're on. If you're trying to destroy a government, I guess you'd call yourself a freedom fighter.
no subject
...but you would call them terrorists?
