Round 2 Tournament Preliminaries

Location: Main Courtyard, Tournament Stadium
Time of day: Afternoon.
Special Rules: One Weapon or set of Weapons per battle; Players may not leave the stadium.

[the announcement rings through the campus all morning, on the half-hour: Can all participating Players report to the Tournament Stadium for midday with their chosen Weapons. The event will begin at twelve twenty-five for all other students.

Yes, that's right, the Tournament Stadium. During the early morning of Day 1, the staff were hard at work constructing a stadium in the main courtyard. There's raised seating for all students, and a large open-air ring for the participants. There's more than enough space even for fliers, and a number of raised areas, stairs and chest-high walls to make battles more interesting. At the end of the stadium is a large screen showing the ring from above.]

"No idea." The tension in Suzaku's voice went completely unnoticed. "I tried to use them before and they gave me a killer headache. So she's gonna give them back after the fight."

Suzaku's eyes widened, so he hadn't actually got the memories back... Gino may have remembered that Suzaku had betrayed him, but he just didn't know it yet. Suzaku shook his head, there were ten memories, the odds of that memory being the one Gino got back first were quite low.

It was strange though that the memories had given him a headache. "Is that meant to happen? The headache? I mean is that normal when you remember things?

Hmm. Well, not from what he'd seen of Kevin and the others using theirs, but who knew?

"Man, I dunno. Think I forgot what a headache feels like?"

Suzaku shrugged, "Maybe, I wouldn't put it past them..." Hopefully it wasn't that, and not, other things.

Then again hadn't Suzaku decided that Gino deserved to know, and if he hated him so be it. It was better than lying. Suzaku shrugged and focussed on the battle, "She's not using your weapon?" Because it was a staff in the pilots hand and not Gino's halberd.

"Nope. A pair of kids who follow her around sometimes volunteered instead. I'm back-up!" He waved across the stands, to where a small brown-haired boy and a tailed girl were balancing precariously on one of the front benches, deep in animated conversation.

Suzaku looked over but he had known who Gino had said 'tailed girl', as far as Suzaku knew there was only one girl with a tail in the school. And the brown-haired boy had to be Kotarou; the pair were almost inseperable.

He was a little surprised that the pilot was using them though, especially Kotarou, in a tournament like this. It was quite dangerous and though Suzaku knew that she wouldn't do anything to intentionaly hurt them accidents could happen. It was strange she would use them two and not Gino who wasn't so... breakable.

"Kotarou and Huashi," he suplied the names, he watched the battle with a worried frown.

"Right, those were the names," he didn't sound much like he cared. He and the little boy hadn't really gotten on. Or rather, he'd been perfectly friendly and the kid had bristled and puffed up enough that he'd triggered the weird protective instincts of the tailed girl. Leaving them alone was fine. "Anyway, gotta go find the others. See ya later!"
