The moment Romeo moved back into line, Zoro almost seemed to forget him; though he had sensed the lad had mustered up some kind of courage, now that he was moving along with the rest of the line again as expected, the 'big, scary man' stopped looking at him entirely. Instead, he focused on the food, nodding appreciatively towards the serving staff whenever he took something. He never smiled, but he never exactly 'frowned' either, and whenever he looked at anything, he seemed to study it quietly, gauging it for only a half of a split-second before taking it or passing it by.
Zoro wasn't allowed dessert either; he didn't seem interested anyway. Instead, he passed through the end of the line and began to walk directly past Romeo.
The moment they were standing next to each other, Zoro looked down at him with the same look of appraisal that he gave anything else, then simply said, "Thanks," in a very strong, genuine tone before walking away.

[and the third massacre buddy is totally unaware of the MASSIVE ANGST he's caused in their shortest member. He plonks his pizza-laden tray down on the table next to Mei, and sits down.]

[Grenn's just settled her chair as well as she can at the table when Gino sits down and shrugs.]
Pizza. If... uh... that thing is pizza. [She gives it a mistrustful stare.]
Mei, if it's not the food, what is it then? [Because the Xingese girl looking that unhappy isn't good at all. Of course, considering Mei's tendency to be... melodramatic, it could be something trivial.]

Sugata had a few things on his tray, sticking to some of the least greasy, offensive things on the menu today. This was good, since his plan was to see what kind of area passed for a dojo around here later.
But his mind was miles away, back on Southern Cross Island, with Takuto and Wako. She would be safe with him with her, of that he had no doubt, but he still couldn't satisfy the faint anxiety he had dealt with. Maybe a few hours with a bokuto in his hand would do the job.

[Grenn had to scratch her scalp, confused. What had this to do with anything? Since this seemed to be something Gino and Mei had been talking about, Grenn doesn't say anything, just looks between the two.]

Another adult, Romeo stared up at the new commer with wide eyes and then back to the scary man. He had said thank you and hadn't tried to hurt Romeo at all so Romeo was a little less frightened. But now there was another man and Romeo managed to nod at him with wide eyes without dropping his pizza or water.
"Everythings fine sir!" He glanced back at the scary man, he thought everything was fine, the man didn't seem angry at the moment.

The dining hall had started to become more crowded around that time, and many of the tables had filled up.

Sometimes these 'terrorists' haven't even done anythhing usually thought of as 'bad'; they're just opposing a government that feels threatened. Of course, they can also be bad... And sometimes, the government is bad, and the 'terrorists' are doing everyone a favour by being a thorn in the government's side.
